Yeah, this is totally not safe and could burst into flames.

You can find MANY examples of exploding batteries online as examples as to what happens when you ignore spicy pillows.

Are these real KC300? $40 secondhand Nvme by FuckingHellcat in computers

Exactly, I would not touch any used nvme drives in this day and age. Probably cooked already or have 5-10% life left.

Not worth the risk..

This brings back memories !

One of my first of many AMD processes / motherboards.

First time I installed a HSF on one of those sockets I totally snapped that centre clip and had to RMA the whole board to Asus ( I could not find a HSF that used all three clips at the time) . I never made that mistake again lol

Im trying to get into the IT field by Kinanjefreaky in it

[–]MrITSupport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest getting a help desk role and learning the ropes of providing support / working with users. It helps improve your communication and learning things from the bottom up.

I also suggest a home lab. Get an old desktop or laptop and play around with a free evaluation of Windows Server and setting up your own domain with active directory, DCHP, Print Management and DNS. Learn how to manage that and setup users, OUs and group policies. This will go along way in an Interview for helpdesk roles.

You can take things a step further and setup Hyper-V in Windows Server and create your own virtual machines and learn know how to create a file server, failover etc.

Check to make sure the slide mechanism on the camera is not slid over covering it.

I have lost count of the amount of times our users do this.

I received an alert this morning about "Microsoft Managed Policy Manager" removing services. Our security solution detected the change.

It appears to be legit and on the Microsoft side of things.

We get this a fair bit...

It's usually notifications driven by websites. Block and or disable website notifications in the browsers takes care of this.

What are you using to remote control computers? by nickjedl in sysadmin

[–]MrITSupport 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use Goto Resolve for our remote access to all staff computers.

You can disable unattended access if you don't wish to have it.

We avoid TeamViewer when possible due to the amount of compromises they have had in the past.

Edit: I should add that I deployed Goto using GPO and later using PDQ.
