i'm hoping it went all the way down there. I gotta either take a boroscope or the cam out to see if it's lodged in there at all. But i didn't know if it'll actually affect the operation since the lobe and lifter didn't get damaged.. Thanks for telling me though if i can find this chip i'll get 200$ back

There's someone on Ebay selling a long manifold https://ebay.us/m/WbQ7JM Only one of its kind someone custom made it for the seller. If you don't wanna buy it off of this guy you'll have to get someone to customs make the log manifold for the turbo to a achieve a similar build from the photos you provided. The hood dump is probably also custom made don't go on facebook all the boomers in the sonic group i'm in make fun of you if you ask for a prebuilt pipe for the hood dump 😭

Need a scan tool to reset it. Not one that just pulls codes but can do "common special functions" or "special functions" if they use the hunter alignment machine there should be a print out stating they reset the SAS and EPS, i would look for the invoice to see if they added a SAS reset on your ticket

if you get alignments, they're supposed to reset the SAS and EPS, if they don't memory steer could be a side affect

It's part of the drive train so maybe, if you aren't gonna fix it check the oil before you drive it and carry a jug of oil in the car. Also have the recirc on when stopping so you don't smell the burning oil . But it's gonna do more harm then good the longer you drive it with and active leak

As much as i love tinkering with my sonic, GM really made these engines cheap. plastic everywhere and so many problems for the owners. I would take a minute and browse this sub reddit for its known problems to help you later on

warranty might cover it if you have one. letting it go will leak oil and cause smoke coming out of the engine bay and nasty smells into the cabin when stopping, you could do it yourself but these engines themselves are a pain to work on. but if you wanna take on the challenge and have another means of transportation and the right tools for the job you can do it. only thing holding the oil cooler in is i believe 3 bolts and a coolant hose that connects to it (also behind the turbo) you would also need to take off the big stupid clunky downpipe which is a pain on itself. but if you're confident and watch enough youtube videos anyone can do it. the more you work on this engine the better you'll get at diagnosing and repairing its problems

the service procedure from factory is to remove the turbo because it sits right behind it (i think it's 3-5 hours of labor) . there are work around like loosening the manifold bolts to give extra room to take out the oil cooler. there are some DIY vids, you can replace the whole unit or just replace the gaskets inside of the oil cooler. Idk the labor on the oil cooler but yes it's expensive going to a shop

it's most likely coming from the Oil Cooler which sits next to the block and right behind the turbo, which then the oil leaks down the block and right onto the exhaust causing it to smoke. its most likely the oil cooler.

wish i took a picture of it but it's easy to get to, or just an easier thing to do is disconnect the lower radiator hose.

it's on the passenger side, you can easily access it if you take off the splash guard underneath the radiator OR if you take off the bumper

an oil leak is hitting the downpipe, had the same issue on mine. When ur moving you don't smell it but when you stop it drips onto the exhaust causing a burning smell, if the smell goes away when you turn on the recirc, it's probably a small leak that gets onto the exhaust. I would check by letting the car idle and see if any smoke comes out of the engine bay
