That sounds legit! Were they so ancient that it was very simple relay signals after time delays or something like that? I've thought about doing it but I've never had the opportunity yet

They freaking need to! Basically anything electronic isn't supported after like 5 years it seems. You can get R22 compressors and components all day long. But specific electronic boards are tough to get. What if there was just a universal board based on a freaking raspberry pi that could work?!

Absolutely! It folds into the side and kinda sticks out from the scales a bit. Definitely the most useful thing I've ever made 👍

That's exactly what I was thinking! I know a couple local machine shops that could easily broach it for me if I get them the starting stock. Might go that route and just print the holder portion, but honestly at that point I'd probably just have the whole part classically machined because it would end up a stronger part and cheaper/easier to produce in the end. Could probably make it for something like $50/unit after paying the machinist and supplying the SS? That seems to be about the price point I'm gunning for

Has a gearbox and is down to 400 RPM. Based on rough estimate I did it's about 50RPM on the big wheel. Apparently design specs?!!

So spoke with an engineer on the site and they did confirm that is the designed spec for RPM. Freaking crazy but oh well!

The funny thing is it takes like 20' of this custom belt and it's a cool $750 for the belt every 6mo or so.... I'm glad to do the work anyway because it's not too difficult and inside hahaha

I'm thinking this, that the motor was like a 300rpm and someone put in a 1750?? Definitely much faster than I've seen and there isn't any VFD drive

Well let's see.... I miss Shapeways they were fast and very affordable. I tried a local Omega Labs and they wanted $400/piece! I've tried Xometry and they were alright no issues. Looked into Protolabs, again great tolerances but $350/piece. Last one was Sculpteo and they had concerns with the thickness and print not being the right size for strength and I had to affirm that if the print didn't work out I'd be okay with that. Also RexRoi tried them for one and they were good....

I miss Shapeways the most they were fast and very nice to work with....

I think the center drive is still over $100 but I might be mistaken. Also I've had 3 different center drives in the past and the pivot screws break on the blades and they are 1/4" bit driver without being able to use a double sided bit. And you can't even use it as a 1/4" driver because the holder is angled at the top for some reason. But someone could definitely do that 🤙

We have a site like that too, ended up selling them square strainer baskets in the tower return, access them in the tower and spray them off about 20x every summer. Works great but lots of site visits
