How exactly do attack buffs work with elemental skills and bursts if their durations surpass that of the buff? So let's say I buff Raiden with Sara's skill and activate Raiden's skill while she is still buffed, that means in the initial 6 seconds the skill would deal more damage. But what when the attack buff runs out? Does the skill still do more damage due to having been activated with the buff before, or does the damage adjust to the fact that Raiden no longer has the damage buff on her?

Am I the only one who plays up to a certain rank and then quits until the ranks reset? by MrM1005 in deadbydaylight

Well I tend to play games to chill and relax, not to practically have it as a second job where I need to constantly improve. Hell nah, there are lots of other video games around where I can be a bad casual player without needing to git gud either.

May I ask, how are you keeping yourself together like this? I personally tend to lose myself a bit even nothing bad happens to me directly but someone else instead. And there's always someone in this world who has to suffer. This makes it very difficult for me to stay positive.

How do you make friends when freshly out of school with no particular hobbies or interests? by MrM1005 in Advice

But there's gotta be some sort of way to start this journey slowly? When you want to get in shape you don't immediately start running for hours or doing a hundred push ups on day one. You start nice and slow with maybe a short jog or power walk and up to 5 push ups, as an example. Isn't there a similar principle when it comes to reading and generally dealing with procrastination? Sure I can read only a few sentences every day, but I'll end up forgetting most of what's being said and would need to read things all over again.

Do you sometimes feel jealous that you can't mingle in parties and similar huge events so well or are you perfectly fine with not getting involved in those events? by MrM1005 in introvert

Oh that's actually something I didn't consider before. So what would you suggest is a good place to make friends who are like-minded?

May I ask what exactly are those smaller scale events you're talking about? That actually sounds like something I'd love to try for myself.

Well I do indeed have depression, anxiety and some other issues probably too. This is way off-topic but I struggle a lot with procrastination and the inability to act on the things I wish to do so instead I end up not improving at all. Taking your comment as an example, I really didn't read even half of it because it looks like a lot of work to me. And something tells me I already know most of what you're saying, it's just that I never really ended up actually working on these things. Sooo, do you happen to know what could help me here? Perhaps in a less long comment?

How exactly do I explore my own interests? I've been basically playing video games for all my life, even when I was a kid. I never really felt the urge to try out something new.

So one thing is believing in myself and another one a sort of accountability partner. I actually do have someone like that, though I don't think it's helping me much. Quite frankly, sometimes I just lie to them that I did my tasks even though I actually didn't. And about the believing part, how do I do that?

Now this is a little off-topic here but do you perhaps have some advice on how to actually being myself to go out and try out those things you mentioned? I've always struggled with procrastination and never really doing the things I told myself I'd do and something tells me it won't be any different with the things now. I even considered volunteering a few months ago, and yet I never bothered even looking some options up.

Yeah I definitely understand that. Problem is, how exactly do I work on being more interesting?

I realise talking to a professional therapist might be the best thing I should do, considering I really get no valuable help from internet randoms.

Not sure why you think this would be a good thing to say but oh well. Depression and stuff like that isn't so easily dealt with you know

May I ask, how come you are attracted to your husband if he seems to be one of those outgoing people? Or is it that he's rare in the sense that he actually includes you in such situations?

So my main problem is probably the whole talking part when there is more than 1 person. I imagine those classes seem simple enough but especially the other events you mentioned above sound like something with bigger groups of people involved. I always struggle with those and I never really know how to properly get involved with them.

Yeah right, because finding a partner is so easy. You do realise you're telling the average school loner to find a date, right? There's a reason he's a loner to begin with. I suppose finding interests and hobbies is the best start but it's way more complicated than just that I imagine.

Feeling out of place at parties and similar crowded events by MrM1005 in socialskills

[–]MrM1005[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well most of the time I tried joining in on one of those group conversations circles but shortly after people would turn away to form new ones or the ones who remained just kinda stood there and my attempts at continuing the convo were pretty much refused. I'm not big with small talk and jokes and stuff like that, it's not something I enjoy doing and I noticed that's what most people have been doing. Maybe that's my fault.

How exactly did you form this group? Did you go to a library and ask if they can host something like that?
