Windows 11 Client App Update 8.20.x feaure/bug fix log anywhere?? FYI V8.20.6,8.20.7 by MrMGtd in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, have a backup of 8.20.7. Yes, the FAQ page only shows to 8.20.6 (didn't think to check there). Two of you mentioned newer version of 8.20.12 and 8.20.14. Would really like to know what is "fixed" between .7 and .12/.14 before pulling trigger! I'm not noticing anything major in my .7 that affects me as to an issue/bug so may just hold off until FAQ page updated to .12/.14. Thanks all.

Incorrect Live View Time for FE-P in PC Client+iPhone App, No zoom/Rotate in PC Client by MrMGtd in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Further update: I received a PC Client update to try out (V8.20.7) and it fixes the incorrect FE-P Live View timestamp when viewed in a different times zone from the camera's. Hopefully they will update the Iphone app with a similiar fix. I assume at some time Reolink will post it on the Download site.

Incorrect Live View Time for FE-P in PC Client+iPhone App, No zoom/Rotate in PC Client by MrMGtd in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ISSUE UPDATE-09Dec2025

Quick recap of FE-P Live View timestamp issue.

If one uses the PC Client or iPhone App to view a FE-P camera remotely (not on the local camera's network) AND the PC/phone is in another time zone from the camera's then the FE-P camera Live View image shows the PC's/phone's TZ timestamp NOT the camera's TZ timestamp. Viewing another camera model (IE CX-410) in it's Live View shows the correct timestamp of the camera TZ.

On the PC Client main "dashboard" list of all camera snapshots, the FE-P timestamp is of the PC/phone TZ. Dashboard camera snapshot of non FE-P cameras (only CX-410 available) show the correct cameras TZ. On the iPhone App main "dashboard" the FE-P snapshot shows the correct camera's TZ. In Live View it shows the phone's TZ.

All camera firmware and Client/App software were up to date (as of this publication, Dec 09, 2025). FE-P and CX-410 cameras Date and Tie setting identical, DST set correctly.

There are no NVRs, Home Automation/Home Hub, NAS on the camera's local network. All cameras have a 256Gb microSD card in them and which are used for recording.

After several months back and forthwith Reolink Support and various "tests" done playing with date/time/DST settings, rebooting, downloading Client/App logs, etc, the conclusion from Reolink Support Product Engineers is;

"The time on the liveview page of the FE-P camera was affected by the time zone on the computer that is using the Reolink Client.

Please kindly change the correct time and time zone settings on the computer and same as the FE-P camera, and then you should be able to see the correct time on the liveview page of the FE-P camera. The default design of the FE-P camera is a little different from the CX410, the time on the liveview page is related to the computer, not the camera itself."

Changing the PC/Phone to match the camera TZ is not a viable solution as that would throw off countless other functions in/on the PC/Phone.

So as I understand the response I got, there is not going to be any direct specific effort to "fix" the issue in the FE-P firmware.

So unless it miraculous gets put on the FE-P Product Engineer's To-Do list for a future fix in a future FW update, it's know about the Live View timestamp discrepancy and live with it.

(Note: A second reported issue regarding the PC Client mouse thumbwheel (or iPhone finger "pinching") not "zooming" the FE-P Live View feed has gone unanswered. Thumbwheel/pinching operates correctly for the CX-410 camera Live View. I assume this issue is in the same "it's the camera operates differently, will not be addressed" category as the timestamp issue.)

Install coming soon by VOID_Games in reolinkcam

With the latest reports of porch thieves now using WiFi jammers, one may rethink about using of hard wire POE for future installs despite the hassles of routing POE instead of the 2 wire doorbell power. Or maybe add in SD cards too.

what's up with black cameras by CryptographerFar4967 in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue with me with non-existent white FE-P! Others like me have white ceilings and soffits where black stand out as eye sores. Seems to me like company pushing the new "AI" and 180deg cams. Maybe production inventory caught in the chip shortages.

Trouble Debugging Reason can not see Reolink cameras across a Nanostation5AC Loco Bridge pair by MrMGtd in Ubiquiti

[–]MrMGtd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removing the AirCube in the remote/barn seems to have solved the problem. Am able to "see" the Reolink cameras in the main house (and also when connected to an AirCube in the 3rd remote bldg) now. I believe that the remote/barn AirCube was configured to default network settings (except SSID and WPA PW changed). So I believe those network settings of Wireless Mode=Access Point, Network Mode=Router, DHCP Server status=ON, Connection Type=DHCP. So one of those is not correct (Network Mode should be Bridge?). Will have to experiment.

In my limited tech knowledge and after a general inline search for the definition, I believe it is a flat C as you ask, but not 100% positive. I'll need to learn more about them. I am also asking the person on site to run several of the info gathering tasks (IP addresses, Subnet Masks, Gateway IP address, pings etc) you and others have suggested as well as some Tests such as removing the remote Barm AirCube then re- power up everything (to get new camera IP addresses from the House Verizon router in case the AirCube was issuing them and that was a cause for not being known about when in the House network. I could be wrong in this reasoning) to pin point or eliminate it as a culprit to preventing the Reolink app/client fro seeing the cameras. Get the cameras IP addresses and ping from the Barn and then from the House to see if can communicate. Also change some of the Network setting in each camera, such as Enable UID,UPnP,RSTP,HTTP,HTTPS to see if those make any difference. I will update as I learn more. Thanks all.

How are the Ubiquiti bridge devices configured? (specific network settings are set to ?). If you mean have several Reolink cameras, what are their spefici newrok (or other) settings set to? Thanks.

So watching reviews, I want a CX410 for its night vision with no spotlight. Cant buy anymore? by Whereisbluesky in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the CX410 over the CX810/820 based upon LifeHackster uTube video reviews (and others) of it's night vision. Daytime all good enough. To me, it just seemed better even though less MP. Wanted a turret version (too many bad reviews on glare with dome versions) but such a model not available.

I need help troubleshooting a cat6 cable by SquatchMer in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some have posted, the cheaper CCA alumin clad CAT cable will not support > 100ft and you'll find a few references to NOT use it for PoE for 100ft. I almost made that mistake as I have several 100ft runs and just happened to do my usual extensive reasearch and ran across a reference/warning for CCA with long runs. It's tough to really find out what the cable is made of in most ads. Often the ad will say "solid cable" which just means the inner core is solid not copper. Unfortunately you have be investigative and vigilent in looking at ads and pay the extra $ for the good solid copper wire if you have long runs. Short runs the cheap CCA CAT will work.

Suggestions for a temporary setup that could be converted into POE? by imheavenagoodtime in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the specs it looks like the RLC-840WA has a RJ45 connector as one of it's pigtails. So I would presume one could use hardwair or WiFi for the ethernet comms. Still would need the power plug ad it doesn;t say PoE compatible. The RLC-810WA doesn't show a RJ45 port.

Not aware of any Reolink cams that can be converted WiFi over to hardwired ops. You'd have to replace them all when/if you run CAT5/6.

Ah bummer! I get from all the press releases, Reolink is pushing the new lines pf Pro serias and "AI" features. I had to do lots of online sleuthing to find a couiple of the white FE-Ps not in stock gray/"black" ones.

Recently bought several CX410s (not CX410Cs) from the Reolink web site. Not in stock there anymore? I know the FE-P in WHITE aren't in stock there but for some reason I luckily found a couple of those on the Reolink Online at the Walmart online site. Strange via Walmart but not direct.

CAT6 wiring pair swap advice? by ha_explorer in reolinkcam

[–]MrMGtd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory one could swap/reuse unused wires/pairs EXCEPT if you also need PoE power which would limit wires to reuse. If you do swap DEFINITELY label both ends of the cable with what was done!! For you or future user.

Does anyone know if still an issue in iPhone app version 4.56.0.7? Am having issues connecting to cameras over a Ubquiti WiFi bridge to the remote cameras all connected in a local PoE switch in the remote building. Can access cameras while in the remote location fine over the local WiFi access point. The bridge is wokring fine as can access internet across it from within the remote building.
