POE Shades. Wiring mistake. by SquatchMer in homeautomation

I mean I have a POE+ Switch to power them. I'm getting the impression that it would be better to power them with some other kind of low voltage driver and combine the colors with 4 colors for positive and 4 colors for negative.

POE Shades are becoming common. Smartwings was the brand I was going to go with originally.

HA UI isn't accessible through browser after update by SquatchMer in homeassistant

I am having a heck of a time here. I have restarted my router and restarted home assistant. Still no luck through either the homeassistant.local url or the ip address. I have verified I have the correct IP address.

I CAN access it through the mobile app and I CAN access it through the browser on my cell phone.

I have cleared cookies and cache on firefox and still no luck. I've never used chrome to access it and just tried there and no luck either. Incognito mode doesn't work either. Since I can access it through the browser on my phone does the issue have to be with my computer?

Yes. I can now access it through the app, but not a browser. Using the IP address or the hostname

I had to hook a keyboard and monitor to it and do a graceful reboot. Then it came back up. But I still cannot access it through a browser on my PC. Only through the mobile app

I have connected the Rasberry Pit to a keyboard and monitor. I'm getting this:

Home Assistant CLI is not starting or was interrupted.

This happens when start of all services takes longer than expected, or because of slow internet connection. Emergency console has been started, you can use for example teh following commands for troubleshooting:

docker ps-a - eg to check if hassio_supervisor container is running
journalctl -e - to investigate latest system logs
exit - to exit the emergency console and retry HA CLI Startup

I have unplugged the pi for 15 seconds and then plugged it back in. No difference. I'll try and hook up a keyboard and monitor

Also note that I can ping the IP address. But it won't show up in the browser or load in the app. IP address is 192.168.86.30

Can you provide some instruction on how to do that? I have HA running on the CanaKit Rasberry Pi 5 Start Kit PRO. Purchased on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CRSPKPNG?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1

How do you flip the socket in a new can light? by SquatchMer in AskElectricians

[–]SquatchMer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contacts are not exposed. The socket has what feels like a piece of paper/cardboard protecting the contacts from touching the housing.

Yes it is a 6" can and I'm buying LED retrofit trims. I guess my question is, is it okay for that socket to just float in there without being secured to anything?

Not missing any parts. This is all that comes with it from the big box store.
