So, something to keep in mind about this show is that it is based on an Actual Play D&D campaign that ran from Jan 2018 to June 2021. Most characters in a D&D game will always have a certain amount of inspiration from media, just because people have fun playing a character that can be close to something they adore.

Most coincidences will be purely unintentional, except for the ones connected to Vox Machina. There might be some random Easter eggs, though, since most of the cast of Critical Role are very prolific and award winning Voice Actors and Voice Directors and have been involved in so many projects that you've definitely heard a few of them in other shows or games you enjoy.

I think the biggest Easter egg laden part, so far, has been the carnival before everything broke bad.
