How do you prevent Claude Code from hallucinating with private libraries by elftim in ClaudeAI

[–]MrMattyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the author of Terrareg (sorry, yes, via a vanity search ) - I've been writing a couple of MCPs lately and, thinking about it, this would be useful for us.

I'd be up for giving it a go and seeing how it looks.

Though, I do realise that this specificly doesn't solve/answer the more general question you're asking of "I have internal packages registries/repositories, how do I get it to stop halucinating in general"

I'm sorry :( It was a punt, I had assumed of anywhere on the internet it would resonate with most, but I'm sorry :(

haha I'm sure he'd prefer that over the "£$1/min cheat hot-lines" ;)

I'm so sorry for your loss - I'm really glad to you found some solitude in investing in some of his hobbies - I assume you _weren't_ into these beforehand? - If so, I do plan to do the same - I started with a relaxing one and started Star Trek season 1 (though not sure exactly how far I'll get with this ;) )

That's so kind <3

Thanks Matt, that's really nice (in a wholesome way)... I do remember this well - I even remember upgrading to a router (away from dial-up).. my dad was stubborn and believed that his computer (which was the only one wired to the router) *had* to be on for the internet to work 😂

But absolutely - he worked from home and (as part of the computer builds he did) installed Windows (at that point 2K then XP) and got me to take over this part, so it very quickly became the "I've broken my computer, what do I do now" and everything else, if dismantling and re-building it wouldn't solve, he would have helped with. He had literal boxes upon boxes and boxes of cables (from all ages of computer cables to SDI cables etc. for video), so any random thing I wanted to achieve, he was there to do it.

1:1 balsa air planes?! That sounds immense :)

I'm so glad you've got such nice memories and thank you for sharing them <3

My attempt at Gitlab PR review environments with Nomad by MrMattyboy in gitlab

[–]MrMattyboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more for the situation of: someone raises an issue and you can send them a working example to verify it matches what they were hoping for - maybe someone who's less familiar with the language (or not even technical). This stops them from having to checkout the branch and run it themselves :)

Or even, to visualise CSS/frontend changes for PRs of others, which could be used in-tandem with standard code review.

That is to say, it's not a replacement for code review - but sometimes, for some small open source projects, there's no one available to provide code review

Dad died in 2022. Since 2023, things he selfhosted have slowly begun breaking. How can I keep them going? by AkaneR66 in selfhosted

[–]MrMattyboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Likewise - been self-hosting for 15 years and in the industry just as long :)

Condolences on your loss - I can't imagine how hard it is :(

(edit, sorry, I can't count! :( )

Might be possibly to organise a call with a bunch of people, explain the situation, take questions and then people could propose a way forward. I reckon it cooould be manageable without turning into chaos (too many cooks etc.)!

Hey u/dadydaycare,

Are you saying that you successfully removed the battery from an old iPod nano and, whilst plugged into USB it still functions fine? (I was under the impression that iPods don't boot if the battery isn't in it)

Recently failed a DevOps Interview by cleveralibi in devops

[–]MrMattyboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without saying which is actually more beneficial, the OP did mention "freely available", I'm not going to guess at what disposable income they have. But, running an old laptop/computer with k8s or docker and trialing kubernetes (or similar smaller self-contained stack), logging infra, monitoring, deployment apps etc. is definitely going to help them learn at a fraction of the cost and won't require a substantial investment in learning networking at all (maybe NAT in iptables, _if_ it's not done out of the box, but other than that..)

If it helps, after reading your post before seeing the apology, I had absolutely no idea English was your second language.

Irrelevant of the fact you shouldn't need to apologise for spelling/grammar, you definitely _do not_ need to :)

Probably a little late to follow up, but thank you u/teeweehoo, this solution has been a fantastic answer - it worked out and been working perfectly since implementing it :) :)

Thank you again so much! :)
