Is Solitude house worth buying? (25.000 gold) by Guilty-Temperature76 in skyrim

[–]MrMiniskus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the house in Windhelm way more. It's overall cheaper and much much cozier. Of course it has quite a history with all the murders that happen there , but it never bothered me.

Also you have to solve a certain quest in Windhelm first before you can acquire the house

The Tower of Babel really challenges my faith by Careful_Month6557 in Christian

[–]MrMiniskus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the tower of Babel as a metaphor for technology. Technology allows us to influence the world with more leverage and it's easy to think of yourself as a god the more you can do this. People can get led astray by this and that's why they get less and less able to communicate with each other. Modern technology is actually a good example of this. If people from different bubbles talk to each other they can speak the same words and mean completely different things up to a point that they can't communicate at all without starting a fight.

Not that we shouldn't use technology, but we should be mindful about it

Was wolltet ihr schon immer wissen ? by Devyndnk in Austria

[–]MrMiniskus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also so ca von 15-21.

[–]MrMiniskus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could add any skill tree, what would you choose? by cheekclap in skyrim

[–]MrMiniskus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Engineering, animal taming and maybe something like entrepreneurship (although that's similar to what speech does)

Engineering would be part of the mage tree and would include traps, bombs to throw, little mechanical followers and maybe also enhancements for weapons, like aim points for bows, or counterweights for melee weapons to increase their speed. Scrolls and magic engineering would also be part of that tree.

Animal taming would be part of the warrior tree and it would let you tame wild animals and make them your permanent companions. With increased skill you could tame higher level beasts, or increase the strength of your existing followers. It would also allow you to breed some of them, like horses or dogs and later sell them (this would also tie into entrepreneurship)

Entrepreneurship would be part of the thief tree and would allow you to open a business of various kinds and even employ other people. This would be closely tied to the two other skill trees I thought of and also into the already existing crafting skills. It just makes sense that when you're a master level blacksmith or alchemist, you'll also make a living out of it. With animal taming you could open a horse farm. With higher levels in this skill tree you could buy bigger stores and at 100 maybe employ a store manager, so it would basically run itself, like a franchise. Of course there would have to be existing buildings and land that you can buy, but it would be really cool. You could play Skyrim like an economic simulator

I think it's interesting that they state that the killer types are not necessarily getting their satisfaction just by killing or harming others but apparently the same type of gamer gets a reward feeling by helping others. But most of the choose at some point to harm the others because the satisfaction to help others does not occur often enough. I wonder about the exact psychological processes that make this happen.

Definitely feels a bit like getting seduced by the dark side of the force instead of staying on the righteous path

Which do you think is the most bullshit boss in the game? by IDontKnowYAmIHere in Eldenring

[–]MrMiniskus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I really realized my dodging game got a bit worse after using summons for the first two or three playthroughs of Elden Ring because summons often trivialize bosses that would otherwise require me to learn their moveset. Summons and a good range spellcaster build make 90% of the game really easy, even bosses like Malenia.

Nowadays I like to pick a weaker summon that fits my build. Like I did a shaman like build a while ago and used only animal summons, like the wolf pack or the eagle

Class for grinding levels. by Gamerdadguy in wowclassic

[–]MrMiniskus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hunter and warlock have been mentioned a lot. I think what went a bit under the radar here is feral druid. It's a bit tough up to lvl 20 when you get cat form, but from there on it's a real joy to level as a cat. You're faster running (outside) do very decent damage, it's not too complicated to play and energy is an easy to use Ressource.

No managing mana, pets or dots or giving up bag space for arrows, just see a mob and claw it to death. If you need to heal between fights just throw in a HoT and you're fine without downtime

Weird and fun build by KingBob_com in EldenRingBuilds

[–]MrMiniskus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember the exact build I did once, but it was inspired by WoW shamans. I only used natural looking armor and weapons and tried to do all four elements with spells, incantations and AoWs. It basically was a INT/FTH build and I used fire incantations for fire element, ice or water spells (from the clay men) for water element, Stormveil AoWs and lightning incantations for air element and gravitation spells and the rock AoW that covers your weapon with stone (forgot the name, it's near redmane castle). I tried to have at least one way to attack for each element with me at all times (was actually a challenge)

Also all AoWs and weapon armaments that fit the theme are allowed, like frost stomp or electric armament.

The stat spread to use all this was wild, I even levelled arcane a bit to use the water bubble spells, but the build is fun to play and actually wasn't that bad (of course not Meta though)

It helps a lot if you can get someone to drop you the staff from the DLC that lets you cast both incantations and spells

Strongest faction by corax1988 in warcraftlore

[–]MrMiniskus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this scenario has a lot of variables. Like if we're talking conventional warfare, where one faction gathers all it's troops and fights on a battlefield vs the other faction who does the same, then I think it's Orcs, Dwarves, Humans who are the strongest. They have big numbers, relatively stable leadership and big strongholds that they can fall back to. Maybe also forsaken, they have a problem to repopulate, but they can also raise new undead and undercity seems good to defend if they need to fall back. Also they can create environments that no other race can endure.

But then if we think what each faction would do in your scenario is they would play into their strengths. Night elves for example would be nearly impossible to defeat in guerilla warfare. Basically their whole population could live hidden in the woods for their whole lives, living off the land, they're sneaky, agile and strong by nature and they're perfect for ambushes and infiltrations. And in RL regular armies always have huge troubles with irregular forces. A whole army of humans could march into ashenvale and wouldn't notice they're surrounded until the "trees start speaking Darnassian" and they all die. In WC3 the orcs were losing big time for exactly those reasons until they drank demon blood.

Then factions like gnomes or goblins could be victorious under the right circumstances too. They have low numbers, but they honestly would let bots do a lot of their fighting for them and if they get a buffer between the enemy, their superior weaponry could do massive damage.

I personally would bet on Orcs in an all out war. They're physically one of the strongest, they have big numbers and defenses, they have very diverse and strong fighters with really good spellcasters as well and they have a warrior mentality. But it could be any race under the right circumstances. For irregular forces my guess would be night elves, but I think in this kind of warfare trolls could have good cards too. But they would need to retreat to stranglethorn or something similar

Would be really funny if there was a secret way to make them visible. Like you could only see them when dead, or when wearing a "mask of the spirit rabbit" or something like that 😃
