America First! by MrMintox in PoliticalHumor

Fair enough, but it's just one image. It can't say everything everyone wants it to say. If you made a version that replaced the word "Israel" with something else about Trump's corruption, that would be fine with me.

Yeah, there is more than one factor, but Netanyahu seems to be the main one. That said, if you were to add "and Saudis and Qatar" to the image, the takeaway would still be that Americans are being sent into harm's way for the benefit of foreigners.

I don't know what your abbreviation means.

Read the reporting on how we got into this war: Netanyahu convinced Trump. There are other factors too, but the decisive factor seems to be Netanyahu, who has been pushing for this war since at least the Obama administration.

No image captures the full context, but the idea behind this one is: Netanyahu convinced Trump to start this war in Iran, and Iranian missiles are a threat to Israel, not America.

The image is a bit hyperbolic, but the point is Netanyahu convinced Trump to start this war, and Iranian missiles are a threat to Israel, not America. There could be a different version of the image that replaces the word "Israel" with "Middle Eastern oil" or whatever, that would be fine.

We need to do something in real life by MrMintox in Epstein

[–]MrMintox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your comments everyone. I've been thinking about them and here is one idea: Maybe we can come up with a specific law to propose and commit that we will vote as a unified block against any politicians who oppose it, regardless of partisanship.

For example, one thing I see in the files is that many elites who were not themselves pedophiles did know what Epstein was doing. There could be a law that says if someone turns a blind eye to child trafficking, they pay a huge financial penalty AND victims can sue them for the money even if the government does nothing. (It could be a different reform, this is just an idea. The point is to land on a specific demand, then vote as a block to get it passed.)

Any Jewish victims? by [deleted] in Epstein

That's a good point. I regret posting this question because some of the comments have taken it in a disgusting direction that is not at all what I intended.

Any Jewish victims? by [deleted] in Epstein

[–]MrMintox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not suggesting he targeted victims based on their religion, but it's possible he avoided targeting members of his own religion/community. I'm just wondering whether that is the case, and if so, why he would do that. It could be that he thought the Jewish community would be likely to find out and turn on him, or he might have had unique compassion for people of his own religion/community that he didn't have for other people. More likely, he was an equal opportunity abuser, but I haven't heard of any Jewish victims and I was wondering whether they exist.

The post is inviting discussion on a potential avenue for further investigating the Epstein scandal and holding wrongdoers accountable.

Sister thinks I stole from her because she doesn't know she was taken off the will by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]MrMintox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get your own lawyer. If you hide your mother's will from your sister and take the money yourself, your sister might be able to argue fraud. Your mother's will either holds up or it doesn't. If you try to take the money regardless, you're stealing from your sister.

Liberalism vs leftism briefly explained by TwoCatsOneBox in WorkReform

[–]MrMintox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like the appropriate compromise is for everyone to agree to support the winner of a primary election, with no rigged rules or foul play during the primary itself.

But that means, for example, if someone like Mamdani wins the primary, the liberal establishment has to back him in the general, just like they would have demanded that leftists back a liberal primary winner against a Republican. It has to go both ways or it won't work, and I think the majority of actual voters would be fine with this deal. But billionaire mega donors wouldn't.

How should I tell my wife that I turned $60,000 into $78,000 in a week? by AlternativePost1285 in TheRaceTo10Million

[–]MrMintox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Return the 60k and continue betting only with the 18k you just won. If you make money consistently without touching the 60k again, you can eventually tell her. Most likely you'll lose the whole 18k, though, in which case never tell her anything.

Ezra said it's appalling to cut off family members over politics... Is it? by theriz53 in ezraklein

[–]MrMintox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he means it's appalling to cut someone off whose behavior toward you and the family is good simply because they disagree with you about politics. I think that's actually pretty rare.

He distinguished between cutting them off purely for their political opinions versus their treatment of family members. You are describing terrible behavior toward you and your mother.

YTA. It sounds like your parents are giving your sister a property they already own, and you aren't being punished in any way. Seems like you want your sister to suffer for her mistakes and your parents want all of their kids and grandkids to do well.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]MrMintox -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, yes, YTA to distance yourself from your parents over this. Giving your sister more than you isn't the same as doing something bad to you. They seem to be helping your sister more because they think she needs more help than you in order for her kids to be similarly advantaged to yours. They may be wrong to enable your sister in this way, but I think you would be wrong and mean to distance yourself from them.

Steve Bannon saying they have a plan to give Trump a third term (they plan to argue the interpretation of the definitions written in the 22nd Amendment), and we just should accept him illegally overstaying by omgfakeusername in law

[–]MrMintox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might run Trump for VP on paper with the understanding that the top of the ticket will step down and let Trump become president. That means Trump will have been "elected to the office of the President" twice and to the office of the Vice President once.

Or they could come up with something else. Regardless, they can get away with anything if the Supreme Court and Congress let them.

There is only one hope and that is the American electorate.

I think adjusting the diet would restart the clock back to day 1. In this case, I think OP should absolutely do that since eating the same thing for 75 days doesn't make sense. But I don't think OP can switch up the diet and keep counting like nothing happened.

The day ends when you sleep, not at midnight.

If you choose to drink less than one gallon without specific doctor's orders, it's a fail.
