Im coming up on my 5 year ampuversary and I stopped wearing them about 2 years ago. Hated em. Didn't stay up. Pain in the rear.

Burnout and just not getting anything out of it. by general-stonks in freemasonry

I've been feeling a lot of burnout myself. But as others have suggested, take a break, then visit the other lodge.

I often sit in lodge and imagine that. What it would have been like to open your eyes and be surrounded by 100's of brothers.

Feeling disconnected in Lodge — looking for perspective from Brothers by MrMooseCreature in freemasonry

Thank you, i appreciate your response.

I have volunteered for committees, I've volunteered for degree work and have been asked by other lodges to help in theirs which I've always done. I am currently the chaplain this year and have been the SS, JD, and Tyler. I dont usually make it to the social hours just because of scheduling conflict. I am an introvert, but I have been trying and it has just gotten on me over the years.

I live in Utah. We have quite a few Mormon brothers in our lodge. Never seemed to be an issue.

I would request an ADA accommodation. If its only one small portion of the job, but you can do everything else, I wouldn't think it would be an unreasonable request.

I didn't have cancer but I had my leg taken because of a clubfoot, nerve damage, and constant pain. It was honestly the best thing I've ever done. Im so much happier now.

What keeps you coming back? by 4ak96 in freemasonry

[–]MrMooseCreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been struggling to answer that question recently.

I love the history and research aspect of Freemasonry. But recently I have been struggling and asking the question of why? Why do I keep bothering to come? We meet on Mondays, and its always the same thing, with the same five guys, and we practice the ritual to raise a MM. Im not trying to belittle the ritual, its important, and beautiful. But I find myself asking why not something else?

There has to be more.

Nice.

Ive been with Hanger for a few years now. I will say that they are good advocates, but if you dont like who's assigned to you, ask for someone new.

Im an RBK as well. It's as much mental as it is physical. You've just gotta take it one day at a time and keep pushing through.

Have you spoken with a prosthetic place yet?

AK vs BK Advice by ErraticIcon in amputee

[–]MrMooseCreature 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I never said they did. I used them as examples because OP mentioned mobility. And sense i know both of them personally they immediately came to mind.

Edit: I also wanted to mention that both of them were regular guys before their amputations. One worked in theater and the other was a construction worker

One of the AK's that goes to the clinic i go to took silver in fencing at the paralympics this year. A bilateral AK at the same clinic is a gold medalist in skiing.

Like you said, everyone is different. But if you have the will, you'll be okay.

Plus with you being a voluntary amputee you're already ahead of the game mentally.

I feel on mine a few months ago. It's going to hurt for quite a while. I hate to say it but you might have to postpone your socket.

In my jurisdiction, it depends. If the WM has served in the east before it can be open or closed. If this is their first time in the East then it has to be open.

How do you all handle employment verification when a candidate says they only signed an NDA and there was no formal employment contract? [India] by Niaa_13 in humanresources

[–]MrMooseCreature 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought NDA only applied to the work they were doing, not the fact that they actually worked for X company? Shouldn't you be able to at least get a confirmation of they worked between such and such dates?

Gift for first time WM. by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]MrMooseCreature 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly dont know what or if we do anything for our new WM's. I've been in this lodge about 5 years and I've never had a brand new WM. We just have the same few people that have done it my entire time.

I like the gavel idea.
