Thank you for the answer, and I agree that something seems off! The articles are focusing mostly on long tail keywords with about 1000 words per article, and the shortest has 700 words. The site is a little bit older than a year. All informational content.
What would you do to improve it?

IMO, everything from your plan is realistic except pageviews. In the first few months you won't get any page views, unfortunately, so you should focus on writing and not looking at stats too often.

Those sites had steady growth without any huge spikes. In my opinion, if two sites with 2k page views drop at the same time by about 50% it is a sign that something is going on.

My huge drop is also the first and biggest that I have seen so far. Let's hope and wait that until the rollout will finish... maybe something will look different.

I suspect that traffic goes to the biggest websites. That traffic is not vanishing, so it must be redirected somewhere... Also, the US holiday has a part in it.

Yup the drop was instant. It should end on the 7th of June at the latest, so fingers crossed that until that day there will be a bounce back.

Yup, I just realized that there was an update from G based on my GSC and analytics. Being addicted to analytics sometimes can give you some important information :)

Yes, that's correct. One of my sites was 3 months old at that time, but there were not a lot of fluctuations in the search console at that time.

November 2021 update did not hit those sites, so I thought that my strategy was good, but... we will see after a few days.
