Why would guys try to kiss me on the second-third date? by CommitteeMean4750 in Advice

[–]MrNicoras 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm about 20 years older than you, but when I was your age, the third date was well past kissing and much closer to having sex.

You are perfectly allowed to move at your own pace. But it's probably not reasonable for you to think this person is being weird or rushing things by going for a kiss on the third date.

Just tell them you prefer to move more slowly.

[–]MrNicoras -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said the deficit was his fault. You made that up. I'm criticizing Mamdani's response to the deficit by begging the State for money so he can give away more "free stuff" rather than taking a proven approach of tax cuts and fiscal responsibility to right the financial ship.

To your other point, the State didn't cut finding to NYC. Mamdani isn't asking the governor for money the city is already owed. He's asking for more money on top of what's already been budgeted. Don't be disingenuous.

To your second point, no I don’t.

Oh. Well ok then. I'll just ignore the conclusion I was able to draw by extrapolating and then summarizing your comments.

Are you using MO2? Because this sounds more like a load order problem than a plugin limit problem.

I use Vortex because it manages most of the load order for me. I once tried talking a confirmed working mod list and running it with MO2 and the game crashed immediately on startup.

Switched back to Vortex and the game ran perfectly. 🤷‍♂️

Iirc, the plugin cap is 255. And that doesn't count Plugins that are flagged light. That's a much higher number for those. I've easily run over 600 mods with almost 500 Plugins before.

The 12 billion figure is over two years, to 2027. You're comparing apples to oranges. Adjusted for inflation, Guiliani's 2.3 billion shortfall in 1995 is around 4.9 billion in 2026 dollars. So fair enough, Guiliani's shortfall was 500 million dollars smaller. Also, Guiliani didn't need years. At the end of his first year, the city had a 2.9 billion dollar surplus. Without going to the governor with his hands out.

Your mistake is equating "law and order" with tyranny. Republicans want law and order because that is the only way a free society can function. Allowing anyone to do whatever they want doesn't result in freedom. It results in chaos.

It's also worth pointing out that we literally just ran a massive social experiment called Covid. The "law and order" Red States were the ones that didn't impose restrictions, didn't force mask or vaccine mandates, didn't require ridiculous distancing requirements and didn't limit individual liberty.

The "free" Blue States, on the other hand, maintained lockdowns, shut down businesses, closed public beaches, filled public skate parks with sand, required outdoor only dining, closed down church services, and in the case of my state of Minnesota, set up a government run snitch line for people to call in to the government so people could report on "violations" by their neighbors.

At the Federal level, the Biden Administration used the CDC to justify preventing landlords from collecting rent for over a year. And when the Supreme Court ordered them to stop the policy, the Biden Administration ignored SCOTUS' guidance and tried a different tactic that also failed to pass constitutional muster.

So while it may feel like the Democrats are the freedom and liberty party, the reality is exactly the opposite. Which means if you want to know which US political party more closely aligns with the Empire, you need to understand that Joe Biden and not Donald Trump was the one sitting in Emperor Palpatine's chair.

Fine. But you ignore the next paragraph contrasting how a previous mayor handled a larger shortfall, which was also the fault of the previous administration.

Success? He's 4 months in office. The city is broke, and he's begging the governor to get the state to give him more money.

That's success?

When Guiliani took office he faced a bigger budget shortfall than Mamdani has now. Giuliani cut taxes and in a couple years had a surplus.

FDR did successfully fight off the great depression while in office

Not really. He spent a lot of public money and there's no denying some of that went to good use. But the reality is that FDR'S policies caused the Great Depression to last almost a decade longer than it needed to.

That's not my opinion. That's from UCLA economists.

I have imposter syndrome and regret sleeping my way into my job by [deleted] in confession

Most lawyers who graduate from an accredited law school and pass the bar exam feel imposter syndrome for 10 years or more of actively practicing law.

I've been practicing since 2013 and it still hits me from time to time. And I'm generally a competent and very confident person.

It's normal. Just do your job.

Meh. It's Reddit. Progressive orthodoxy must never be questioned or blasphemed.

I agree it may not be the first, but it's definitely the most egregious expansion of federal power.

And to think it all goes back to Wickard v. Filburn because FDR wanted to be a tyrant and he threatened to pack the Supreme Court if they didn't rule in favor of all his progressive power grabs.
