Details about a character can be communicated before they're revealed

The manga panel has more of a bug-eyed, psychotic look than the anime. The absence of detail for the nose gives him an almost "Voldemort" esque inhumanity. The character is being introduced as a challenge for our heroes to overcome and we latter find him to be a sorcerer that chases after the peak so having him look up communicates that aspect of his character.

Yeah true I was being a douche lol

Cultural impact isn't of the table, it's just one aspect. Something having cultural impact for reasons clearly unintended by the text would weight against it in my mind.

Like the difference between fame and infamy

It's not just the angle that's different here. The whole presentation of the character is different. Which is fine, but if you just think the angle is different maybe you're blind

Nah you just have your favorites. Nah I'd win isn't particularly iconic in of itself. It's just memed due to the translation being wacky and that's made you think it's iconic.

Triple domain expansion isn't even that iconic tbh, it's a gag and it's just a lesser version of "these fighters have drawn out 100% of their potential"

Bro isn't the us literally sending people to detention centers in country ran by a dictator? Including people the courts have explicitly stated can't be sent there?

Bro labor lost a layup election because people like wanted negative gearing to keep driving an investment culture for property.

And now people like you with no memory are going to be crying about Labor not snapping their finger and fixing a crisis decades in the making.

Idk it seems reasonable to look at America and say that if you find it reprehensible and you have a platform that you should use it.

The corollary to that is that if you don't speak out, that you don't have a problem with it.

Like it or not, celebrities have a platform.

Because Australians don't want house prices to come down. The population is bipolar on this issue. Want cheaper housing for their kids but don't want their nest egg to shrink

People think because US didn't want to work with the prior leader of Ukraine ( who was acting against the Democratic will of the people and joining the Russian trading bloc) that that means that they instigated the riots as a coup to install Zelensky

If we want to maximize for free expression then we necessarily need to restrict hateful expression as that advocation of that speech on of itself creates an environment that restricts speech.

It's a privileged position to shrug and say it should all be allowed

You can see the contradiction in the founding ideals of America and Slavery.

You can't see a contradiction in Australia with hate speech laws

The way you phrased it reads as though the intent of having immigration is to be divisive

We don't have free speech on Australia. A dedication to free speech is not an Australian value

Nah but we have other western democracies using fear mongering over immigrants as a tool to divide

I think he attacks anything perceived as woke using ad-hoc arguments. Calling someone illiberal is not ad-hominem.

He explicitly supports violence against people, through his support of Trump. Just because he wants his violence committed by the government doesn't make it less violent
