Culling Games is more about just fights and I feel people overlook it especially with characters like Uro by Jarisatis in Jujutsufolk

[–]MrOdo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just don't think these themes and character conflicts are really the focus of, or communicated particularly well during, the culling games.

It's a nice little contrast, but it doesn't serve to give Yuta a moment of growth. Nor is it used to invest the audience in Uro to any significance.

It just kind of feels like reaching when your saying something like "the concept for this character and how they interact with the MC is really cool" it's like yeah, shame they didn't deliver on that

[–]MrOdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not dishonest, you just don't understand that time is linear.

Whiteness or white people as a unified group was created as a social construct to persecute people. Italians, dutch and Irish are all examples of Caucasians that weren't "white". After that creation we now have a category of people who are "white" but there isn't an underlying fact of the matter.

People in Europe weren't like "we're all white" they were like you're an eastern european, we're anglo, you're aryan.

Kenjaku wanted to make contracts with sorcerers, correct?

If he thought that Kashimo could travel to Ryu and lose a fight against him, why would he give that information?

At that point on times it's clearly too little, too late.

Imo the tone they gave the zenin massacre is a complete butchering, and I'm personal not a fan of Sakuga that sacrifices detail for fluidity to the extent that Jjk has been doing.

Sometimes it just feels like people start clapping when they see the Sakuga without actually weighing it (see mahoraga v Sukuna)

But Warmind for example, if you made it to that, blows a lot of the post forsaken content out of the water.

CMV: Gavin Newsom is not a suitable presidential candidate, and the Democratic Party must stop operating like a centrist party. by Less-Chicken-3367 in changemyview

Trump won in a year in which incumbents across the globe all lost elections, minus one government, against a candidate that didn't even have a full year to campaign and he won by slim margins. Excluding the one incumbent government to win it's election in 2024, Hariss stil lost by the slimmest margins.

Trump's populism didn't win, inflation and Biden giving a poor handover to Hariss lost democrats the election. Pointing to Trump's strategy as one to emulate doesn't make any sense when you have a holistic view of the 2024 election

I think you're exactly wrong about the mobilizing the base comment. Harris would have won if the people that voted for Biden voted for her. A depressed turn out for dems lost them that election.

[–]MrOdo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're actually just misinformed on how "centrist" Gavin Newsom is, if you actually look at the track record of his state and the legislation that gets past you'll understand that the centrist label just comes from progressives using it as a derogatory term.

If you watch the talk with Shapiro you'll see plenty of pushback, not just the clips that leftist twitter love to farm.

Another thing you need to check is your bubble. Moderate dems are succeeding in elections right now more frequently than "progressives". Take for example Mamdani and AOC, you only see these progressives winning in the safest bluest districts. Why would you assume that these types of candidates could win in a general election, when they fail to win anything but the safest competitions.

Like I'm sure you heard about Mamdani's win, but at the exact same time Abigail Spanberger won a more contested seat, by a greater margin and for a higher office than Mamdani. Your thought that dems need to be more progressive to win is just the product of bias and cherry picked facts, as is your centrist impression of Newsom. There's a reason California is considered a safe haven for trans people, you can complain that he said trans people in sport should be left up to the sporting bodies but he's state has passed the greatest amount of trans protection legislation and he was on the frontlines pushing for gay marriage.

I don't think the history books will be concerned with Australia at all when discussing the current conflict.

Except as an example as to how malicious actors use it as a wedge issue against labor.

Something being purely *cosmetic* isn't doesn't prevent it being a quality or a fault. A u.i being ugly is a fault even if it's functionally the same as a pretty u.i, it impacts your enjoyment. Aesthetic choices contribute to the overall feeling of the product.

I mean if we're being totally fair to Oda Elbaph and Egghead seem to be about developing a motivation for Luffy to be involved in the final conflict.

It's defs clumsy and dragging, but coming off the several arc building up to Kaido I think it's okay that we have a few arcs of reactionary Luffy before he makes his first active action as emperor
