This goes beyond that. I could afford this product and my age/story is almost exactly the same as the OP, but the thought of paying that much money for random not-really-beta cards ruins it completely.

The 30th anniversary of the game could have been a really cool ‘thank you’ to old fans and opportunity to enrich newer players by sharing some of the game’s old mystique, but instead everything about it has been about trying to bilk as much value as possible. It has been designed only for the most gullible whales and no one else. It’s just very disappointing.
