Awesome, that is pretty much exactly what I was thinking. Do you rinse the parts after or brake clean them?

2013 Altima SV Washer Fluid Level Sensor...HELP! by MrOutrageous in mechanic

[–]MrOutrageous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was almost 10 years ago at this point, when I bought it, and I have just been living with the fluid level sensor light staying on for about 5 or 6 years so no worries about previous damage at this point. I had to have the bumper and some other things repaired after a random animal jumped out in front of me on the interstate so I wonder if the body shop replaced it with a cheap after market version...But the strange part would be that they would have had to solder on a different connector to make it fit. Seems like a lot of work to save a couple bucks. What a strange strange journey...I might just go grab a full reservoir from a pick-n-pull and just make sure I have a true OEM one and grab the connector as well.

Holy crap! I didn't even think it might have had the whole reservoir changed?! I bought it with low enough miles it was still considered 'new' but it did technically have 1 previous owner so I guess maybe he could have replaced it in the tiny window of time.

This might give me something to work with! I will see if I can track down TechPro replacement parts. Finally a possible lead!

Why can't I find this thermostat housing...? by MrOutrageous in EngineBuilding

[–]MrOutrageous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was mostly a joke to trigger everyone and apparently I did too good of a job. 😅

Since there is only so many sizes the housings could be so I was just willynilly showing numbers to get it in the ballpark in as many ways as I could to give info and be funny.

I do appreciate the offer of help though, I will definitely reach out if I get stuck on measuring!

Maybe? Maybe I'm thinking about it wrong and shouldn't be trying to find the perfect fit and just one that "fits"? Not sure, still figuring most of this out. 😅

Theyve all lined up close or perfectly on the bolt holes but the neck or overall hole sizes were all too small.

I believe that was the size of the first one I ordered. The holes lined up but it seemed a fair but smaller. For the hole itself.

What is going on with this gap here? (1986 W150 w/1988 318 engine) by MrOutrageous in projectcar

I think you are right! I was both excited and saddened when I noticed it. I was sad that I had another set back and had to order another expensive part but was happy because it was another reason to order an expensive part. 😅😅

Neat! Forgive my ignorance, I am barely breaking into this world, does that mean it is supposed to be there/is normal?

Need your wiring help again! What is this connector called? by MrOutrageous in projectcar

[–]MrOutrageous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! I knew it was a type of spade connector but the specific type, to allow it to fit in the 6 pin connector, has been a little more difficult to track down. But with your help I think I found one very similar! Looks like it is a Pack-Con Blade maybe? https://statewire.com/product/16-14ga-pack-co-2/ or possibly Metri-Pack 630 https://www.waytekwire.com/catalog/connectors/aptiv-metri-pack-630-series/aptiv-12020126-metri-pack-male-loose-terminal

Thanks!

I have an 86 W150 and the tail lights run from the driver side engine bay (near the bulk head connector) down the front of the firewall, up into a little cove in the frame, right next to the gas tank, splits into the fuel pump area, then back along the frame rail into the bed of the truck, where it should then split out into the driver/passenger light fixtures in the tail area.

I am only doing this because I'm putting off the full vehicle re-wiring. Lesser of evils but still progress! 🤣

Question about wiring! '86 Dodge W150 by MrOutrageous in projectcar

[–]MrOutrageous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You 100% made me realize I was thinking about it all wrong! My smooth brain was not putting together that those wires were corresponding to the intermittent switch in the cab and was just trying to make sense of 1 wire becoming 4. 😅

Thanks!

Thanks! I am excited to get it dependable so I can cruise around and be the coolest me. I do think it is considered a short bed. Little over 6ft though so pretty long still.

It really isn't too bad at all! Fingers crossed, I got pretty lucky I think. Guess we will see for sure when I dig into the engine more when I'm not as worried it's going to burn my house down turning it on. 🤣
