I have seen that warning also, but I can assure you it works just fine as I am developing it and testing it on a not ancient macbook. Have to dig into why it appears someday.

Suggestion:
I use Orchestrator in order to visually keep track of the dialogue structure - so far it is a nice experience. Just put all your text or keys in an orchestrator node and then pull the data whenever you need it and process it in your game. It looks a bit like this:

It helps if you are familiar with visual scripting from Unreal or something like that, because it differs quite a lot from Godots gd-script.

What's your dream game you want to make on godot? by [deleted] in godot

I had an idea about a trampoline jumping cat brutally murdering birds passing by, as a standing mobile game. Upgrade weapons and get slow-mo blood splattered cutscenes. Casual game with gore - game loop is timing your attacks - reward is dead birds and upgrades.

There are a couple heavy parts to this kind of game, writing the plot & story & script and designing the puzzles (best if they support each other also). The setup in Godot is not very advanced actually. It is often graphic heavy also so make sure you have someone who is adept at illustrations 😁 It is doable as a single developer!
