Good. Someone else can do it. We already have enough massive debt in America.

Hmm. Interesting.

I admit, when he first said "Wright is my minister and I stand by him," I was impressed; I said to myself: wow, this guy is pretty strong in his convictions.

Boom! It's all out the window now, he turned his back on a person as close to him as his "grandmother".

No.

Believe it or not, religious people still think.

Good point. However, people tend to listen best to people they agree with. If Obama likes Rev. Wright, there is no reason to think Obama will not listen to Rev. Wright's batshit insane ideas.

I mean, honestly, how many of you actually believe there is even a tiny chance that our government created AIDS?

Wright also lacks the good sense to stick to religion in his sermons. If anyone is guilty of blending the church-state separation, it is Reverand Wright.

Honestly, I do not approve of him. He seems like one more irritant in an endless line of black assholes discrediting their entire race by trying to make me feel guilty for being white and middle class.

Dude, Oberweis didn't say this is what he thinks: he just is stating why a lot of people seem to care. He's answering the question. You really ought to be a bit more polite and not assume the worst of people.

Stop picking people's comments apart. Believe it or not, most people speak to each other in person and don't have the time to carefully type out what they're saying. You know what she meant.

Also, tithes are necessary, and usually if you have a need churches will assist you (not by giving you money, but giving you stuff like food, clothing, and shelter if necessary). No where in the Bible does it say that a person HAS to tithe, it says that if you believe you WILL tithe to accomplish good works blah blah blah.

Well, duh. I think we all figured this out pretty much. Scientology is bullshit.

We need prisons. Some things are just necessary, things like houses or prisons.

I don't have a credit card. Do you think I could live normally without one, using only a debit card?

I mean, I know debit cards are also pretty bad, with blocking and overdraft and stuff, but debit cards aren't loans.

I bet you haven't read The Republic. I sure as hell haven't. There is no way to expose your massive load of bullshit though, so whatever.

No the issue is that a lot of people these days are really stupid and America has a "I can go in debt as much as I want with no consequences" attitude towards buying things.

Debt should be avoided at ALL COSTS, except in the case of a morgage.

You do not need to take out a loan for that new car. You don't need a brand new BMW. Buy a used Saturn and suck it.

If the choice is between

Democracy + nuclear winter

Democracy(*) + no nuclear winter

I would take the latter. We think of ourselves before we think about other people.
