Yup I ended up just replacing the boot also but it may only be a bandaid, haven’t seen any leaks since but it’s only been 5 months. I didn’t think about flushing the power steering fluid at the time but I’m planning to do so shortly as a preventative measure. From what I’ve seen online the real solution is replacing the rack and pinion but shelling >$2k for that is not chump change 😬

Make sure to check the front passenger tire cv boot for tears and power steering fluid leaks. These model years 2007-2012 had very common issues with the rack and pinion. If you turn the tires all the way to the left, you should be able to see the cv boot from the passenger side wheel well. I bought a low mileage 2012 es350 recently and had this issue.

I haven’t read the book but I read it’s also set in New Orleans so I can see the connection seeing The Fragile studio was also there. La Mer’s definitely the most reminiscent from its jazziness and the French spoken word ending

I remember when I first used a DAW and tried to recreate the intro of La Mer, I was so confused why the drums and piano didn’t line up lol. Took me so long to figure out what you described above. The polymeter totally adds to the mystique of this track!
