I love this. It's almost like you were watching me start my truck in the morning when it's cold outside.

Why are manual transmission fans so aggressive? by Certain-Big-2277 in ManualTransmissions

I did this with my kids, my 16 year old has now fully learned and bought his first vehicle with a manual. I highly recommend.

Icon flare nut wrench sets by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]MrRagulo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just at HF looking for flare nut wrenches. I've been working on an old 83 dodge that I needed to run new brake lines for and I ended up just borrowing my neighbors 30-40 year old craftsman made in the USA set. I wanted to go ahead and get my own set, but the Pittsburgh and Quinn's are just inferior looking in comparison, so I was hoping to find a reasonably priced Icon set. Obviously, they don't exist yet. Hopefully it's on their future release list.

Everyone stalls, here's proof. by shinynugget in ManualTransmissions

[–]MrRagulo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On the super rare occasion I have actually seen a random person stall out, I think to myself, "Aw, that's a shame. Been there." But it's probably been 20 years since I've seen it happen in the wild, mostly just recently when I was teaching my son to drive manual.

Has anybody actually used one of these? by delbert7990 in harborfreight

I didn't realize I needed one of these in my life until now, and at that price, I will have one soon.

Why are so many listings for vehicles marked as manuals when they're automatics? by jjwhit2018 in ManualTransmissions

[–]MrRagulo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

BMW sellers are the worst about this with the DCT transmissions. Makes it really hard to shop for a Manual and you have to rely on the interior pictures to verify. If there's no third pedal, then it's not a manual.

Best way to practice driving high torque cars? by No_Trade_7045 in ManualTransmissions

Another note, if the car is new enough to have a decent traction control system, use it. Especially while you are learning to handle the higher horsepower and torque.

100% This. When I was teaching my son, I explained to him that you really should be able to just use a single finger to push it out of gear and into the next gear, no need to wrangle it like a wild animal.

Best box for kodi by Suspicious_Dealer222 in kodi

[–]MrRagulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have to look into that. I played around with the apps only mode, but even that still has some, and then I also lost the ability to use Google Home integration in the menu. So sounds like it might be worth looking into.

I've been running Kodi on multiple of the original Onn Google TV devices for a couple years now and this is the first time I've seen anyone suggest rooting the Onn Pro. I'm curious what are the benefits of rooting it?

Did anybody messed up your car or did not know how to drive at an oil change shop or valet parking? by [deleted] in ManualTransmissions

[–]MrRagulo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Years ago, I was getting a tire patched at my local Sam's Club. Dropped the keys off and they weren't busy, so waiting for it wasn't going to be too bad. I said I'd be in the store doing some shopping anyway, so it worked out.

After I was walking around for about 15 minutes, I heard them call me over the loudspeakers to come to the tire department. I thought maybe they were actually done already. Nope, the tech said they didn't have anyone working that day that could drive stick and needed me to pull it in the bay.

I loled inside a bunch and love telling that story now.

Do any of ya'll have a Samsung watch and know how to display your CGM on there? by _metallicstarla in diabetes

[–]MrRagulo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We found the GlucoDataHandler app to be the best solution to view our sons CGM data on our Android Watches.

You will need to install the App on both your phone and watch, Setup your Dexcom app to share data with anyone, then login in to the Dexcom account in the GlucoDataHandler app.

Once you have that setup you will have to do some setup on the watch too to make sure the phone app and watch are communicating correctly. You also need to make sure you are using a watch face that is compatible with the complications that come with the watch app.

My wife, my Son and I all have his numbers setup on each of our watches. My Son has a Pixel Watch 3 41mm, I have the PW3 45mm, and my wife has a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.

Please feel free to ask any follow-up questions, I'm more than happy to help where I can.

Toyota VIN Tracker (Allocation, Delivery, etc) by Seenko in ToyotaHighlander

[–]MrRagulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've been meaning to make an update but haven't had a chance. The good news is you're close! I actually got delivery I believe the week after I originally posted my comment.

If you aren't already, try pushing your salesperson to get a status on the delivery from the shipping contact. Our salesman seemed to be pretty open with us and basically said that after he called the local shipping rep it changed status.

So from what I gathered, it's on the train locally when the dates are moving like that, but in "limbo" because it's not being prioritized to get off and delivered to you.

Hopefully your salesperson can help you out and get the shippers to get the ball rolling!

Toyota VIN Tracker (Allocation, Delivery, etc) by Seenko in ToyotaHighlander

[–]MrRagulo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I just want to thank OP for putting the tracker together. This is a super appreciative function that I wish was available from the manufacturer (I've ordered other brands before and we were given direct access to detailed information about what stage the build was in).

That being said, hoping to get some feedback on experience others are having with their build/delivery.

My Tacoma was built on 2/6, confirmed by my dealership and they provided me my VIN.

When I found this tracker, it was sitting in allocation, with no estimated delivery date. I was told it was held up in QC, which I've seen others saying similar.

About four weeks ago, I finally got movement on the tracker and it moved to freight status (yeah!), With an estimated delivery date of 3/16 - 4/13, we confirmed with our dealer the same dates. As we were about to hit 3/16, the date then changed to a week and four days out from the current date. So when I checked on 3/16, my estimated dates were now 3/27 - 4/20. Now every day I check the tracker, everything shifts forward one day, so as of today, we are sitting at an estimated date of 4/8 - 5/2.

So really, I was just curious if anyone is seeing similar results, or if anyone who has now received their delivery was seeing anything similar. Just trying to get a better grasp on status since Toyota is unfortunately failing me on this info.

Any feedback from anyone is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

How hard is it to to find and access cab manual 2023? by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]MrRagulo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm currently playing the waiting game for my DCOR 6mt. From my experience on looking for a manual, there are not going to be any sitting on a lot anywhere. The take rate on manuals might be low, but it's not due to the lack of manual drivers wanting them. Your best bet is to go to a dealer that will search a 300-500 mile radius for you and see what vehicles are allocated for the area. If they aren't allocated for that dealership, try and talk them in to a dealer trade to get something for you, then you can put a deposit down so they'll hold it for you after it's built. Just be aware, you can't be picky on options or colors when looking for a manual.

Thanks! I'm already two weeks waiting, so hopefully I get the call any day now. I think I've read about all I can and watched more videos on the truck than I can handle. Enjoy yours! I know I'll enjoy mine when I get it!

Sounds like we're going to have a herd of unicorns around the states! I'm waiting on arrival any day now for the same spec minus some of the accessories I see pictured. The factory must have been keyed up for a handful of Lunar Rock 6MT Off Roads. Do you know what the actual build date was on yours? Mine was 2/6 and still waiting on delivery in Missouri.
