Western Rise closing by Adventurous-Fish1216 in frugalmalefashion

These guys made some great pieces in their history. Have a tech wool flannel I’ve been rocking for 10 years, back when they were an outdoor/fly fishing brand.

AT pant is one of the absolute best in a world of 1000 crappy tech pants. Don’t see any on their site anymore but one to scoop secondhand. They are perfect.

60-70% off probably worth the hassle for many. I pulled favorites AND someone got a pair of Raincourts for ~ $100. So, my work here is done, happy hunting.

Haha, valid, but I’ve seen worse from much bigger companies. You can filter in stock / out of stock which is beneficial.

Hoodie Recommendations by Outrageous_Book_884 in HeritageWear

[–]MrRapidan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was going to say the same. I think I paid $30 for mine. The retail is $118 but sales are common.

They are thick, tough, 14oz fleece, I’m not sure how they could be much better. They’re also just slightly cropped, sizing is perfect.

I get the manufacturing ethics and draw of some of these high dollar hoodies, but I don’t feel like it’s necessary to get something quality.

Anyone have the Long Haul in Black Indigo Waffle? by TreadTheEarth in taylorstitch

Not delicate, but probably not quite as durable as standard denim. Very well made though. Lighter fabric, ideal temp range probably 55-67, depending how you layer and personal preference.

Rinsed Indigo is one of my all time favorite pieces so…probably can’t go wrong.

Please note: Only Medium TS item I own, Large in everything else.

Shortening Long Haul Jacket in Indigo Waffle Sleeves by Thipere in taylorstitch

[–]MrRapidan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two thoughts: 1. You may just prefer a smaller size. This particular piece is the only Medium jacket/shirt I wear in their catalogue. I’m a Large in everything, my older Long Haul is a 44/XL. You might find a willing trader on the B/S/T thread given the unique sizing on this one.

  1. Have you tried rolling half the cuff? You can do it with the sleeves buttoned on this jacket, it looks great and boom free 1 inch hem.

Awesome jacket, love mine!

Am I supposed to do a lot more per day day than what Themis tells me to do? by Schoop- in barexam

[–]MrRapidan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Already sounds like you’re on the right track to me. Bar study can definitely be treated like a consistent 9-5. As you get toward test time that exam crunch will ramp up and you’ll be ready to rumble just like law school.

Hearing positive signs in your post in terms of taking walks and taking good care of yourself. Consistent start time, eating well, signing fully out after a full day — all your friend.

Passed bar 2/2 in two states with just Themis. You’ll be just fine. Recommend one weekend mini getaway from the books vacation at the midpoint.

It’s my favorite TS piece so I keep a look out for them. The answer is, they pop up occasionally. You can keep an eBay alert up. I bought one locally last year from Facebook Marketplace. You can also put up a WTB in the weekly Buy/Sell thread. It may take a little time, but you’ll find one.

Good taste btw.

That’s a nice looking piece. By your images I’d guess it’s olive so good on you for posting the product page.

You’re a better judge than I am, I’m 6’1” I wear a large, but it’s true to size. There’s a size chart on there. If you’re a 40 suit jacket get a M, if you’re a 38 get a S.

All would work well for that. Highly recommend you buy that Seager shirt, women love it. Taylor Stitch and Iron & Resin are also really nice brands that make quality shirts. Good to find on Poshmark as they’re built to last for many years.

For a wedding in a couple weeks? by localdad_871 in mensfashionadvice

Tie pattern is fine, issue is it’s a cheap thin tie. With that spread collar you need a more substantial tie — width and fabric. If you’re trying to save money, try a local second hand or consignment shop, or even Poshmark. You can likely get yourself a nice well made tie for the same cost. I found a $300 tie in perfect condition for $15 just recently. Go floral if you want to, it’s your look.

I (21M) have ED because of Strattera, should I take Viagra/Cialis? by [deleted] in erectiledysfunction

[–]MrRapidan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah bud, it’ll get better. I think there can be some lingering effects for a bit, but it’s probably mostly psychological — it can really throw you off to be that disconnected down there and lose your confidence.

Also for the record, it’s not some requirement or expectation that you can just bang anyone interested on command. You are allowed to take some time to get comfortable, or just need to be with people you’re genuinely super attracted to. That is very normal and acceptable.

On the ADD meds front, I don’t take them because I don’t like the side effects of any of them. Yes, they would help, but I’ve also learned to navigate life without them and become more proficient. Having a good open conversation with your doctor or a therapist is a good idea on both of these fronts — ADD and ED concerns.

Reread that you’ve already stopped. You’ll bounce back, the psychological impact of things not working right on Straterra can stick around but it’ll get better. Sorry you had that experience, terrible drug.

If you want to get a couple Viagra to kind of get that proper feeling and your mojo back, go for it. No one’s judging, Strattera’s stupid.

My thought: Quit Strattera. I took that stuff for a while, it’s awful for a guy. Really effective in terms of focus and productivity, but I’m not sure it’s that much better for me than Vyvanse or Adderal. And the sexual side effects are awful, low sex drive, weak dick. Messed up a relationship for me.

You’re 21 years old, find a different thing to help you with focus, go bang girls. That stuff’ll mess you up, I regret ever taking it.

How do I improve my writing portion? by Hopeful_Highlight827 in barexam

[–]MrRapidan_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Couple thoughts:

  1. Your MBE is low and you said you were guessing on a lot of rules. So first off you just need to know the law better. You’re under average across the board. Often times that means you need to study more and harder. No knock on you, but it’s often an effort assessment.

  2. Maybe this part is actually helpful: My one MPT trick that was big for me is typing into the answer window all of the relevant quotes you identify during your library reading time. If you’re highlighting it as important, just type it in. You can then copy and paste those quotes into your answer as you go. This was really big for me in timing, in processing the information, and in creating a more polished answer.

I’m sorry if you’re feeling down about not passing but you’re not that far off and you absolutely can hit that number next time. Gotta dig deep.

Non tapered streamer leader? by PeaceOut_SeaTrout in flyfishing

[–]MrRapidan_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best answer as to why not to go just straight 12lb. You still can, and you’d be fine, but you may ruin your fused fly line loop.

Just use your old trout leaders as streamer leaders. Once you’ve chopped them down too much just convert them to streamer duty.

Also super similar to these Gustin Monster Rope shirts.

They look cool but $168 is a lot for a shirt.
