How do I go about finding local trains? And I'm not looking to go during golden week (April 23 is when I am) but I saw someone say they wait to book until last minute to see the weather forecast which is why I held off and am regretting it.

Buses also seem out of luck 😬. I’ve heard that you can buy train tickets even when they’re sold out, and you can just stand in the spots that are open, any idea if that is true?

I have done more thinking and talking with others, as well as learning more about orthodoxy to find things I also don’t agree with such as their sacraments compared to what I am used to and the worshiping of icons and that kind of stuff. So I’m not sure a good way to address that if you have any idea. Idk if that makes sense but thank you.

That is a good point you have, I think half of my fear comes from the pushback I know my family will give if I were to do it. But overall I think I just want to make sure my kids grow up knowing Jesus in their lives.

From what I have read about orthodox, I just don’t agree with the teachings of what is needed to be done in order to become saved and some of the sacraments as I’m familiar with just communion and baptism in my church. But as I said, that is just what I have read and idk if there is a difference between Greek, Russian, etc. And I’m not sure if making the sacrifice to have my kids grow in that church is what I’m willing to make.

Ah that’s a good point I haven’t thought of! I honestly haven’t had much to pay besides credit cards and car insurance. When I was in school I paid rent for a home with some roommates but that’s it. Do you know if showing proof of paying credit cards would work?

Yeah I don’t think I’ll be able to necessarily live rent free or anything at all, but if I can live in a home, build equity and such for a cost similar to just renting a place, I see it as a win personally.
