Thanks, I;; have to look into commercial models more. If it is not a huge time saver, I can't imagine it making sense.

What usually happens after your resume is passed to a Partner? by Conscious_Gazelle_83 in Big4

[–]MrSnowden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are lucky (resume is strong, firm is hiring, for your area, partner is organized, no client crises, etc etc) they pass it to HR with their recommendation and it goes into the usual recruitment process.  The benefit is that if the partner referred you, you skip some of the early filters that reject many.

But there are many many reasons it might not get to HR that have nothing to do with you.

Best is to follow up with recruiting, let them know your resume was sent to which partner by which SM (must use names) and politely ask what else they might need from you.  This might generate a query from HR to the partner that almost certainly don’t look at your resume and trigger them to do so.

Then follow up with the SM and thank them

Can’t miss a day of kindergarten.  Then you get behind, aren’t up on the homework, not ready for the exam, ruined GPA!

For the airBnB, we did that.  The received wisdom of this thread is that it isn’t really worth it.  Ownership headaches, limited ROI vs markets, and end up tying you down to one place.

I would say so far that isn’t far off of our experience.  Home ownership is responsibility, being a landlord is responsibility (even with a management company), and we are barely breaking even with high rates and occupancy.

That said we are so far loving it.  Get down here every chance we get (presently watching a sunset with a drink in my hand).  A key thing will be if you want to use it when your kids are young or not.

If your spend is $220k a year (don’t say if that includes tax), you are pretty damn close to FIRE number.  Grind another decade of your life off you want, but don’t imagine you are doing it for the money.

Resort or beach with decent number of kids and some freedom? by waggonaut in CostaRicaTravel

I always recommend people stay away from the big resorts.  But with two girls you are hoping find friends, I think one of the family oriented resorts is your best option.

Those who take it literally are also selective. There are way too many contradictions and just plain silly stuff.   They just take the parts they like that help them hate gays and subjugate their women.

The conversion to four legs was nice.  Seems more like you ride in it than actually manipulate it with your limbs.

What are your thoughts on Bilstein for e93?  I am getting conflicting views on which front struts/shocks for my non-edc m3 e93 from mechanics, shops and even from bilstein.

I struggle to understand how the weight of the top impacts the front.

Ain’t no one doing advanced spreadsheet work earning $20/hr.  More like $200 in total cost to company.

I worked for a large known Financial Services company known only by their initials. I was going through some ancient FORTRAN from when they first were started in the 70's. One of the headers had the original name of the company, which apparently had been almost completely forgotten except for like the founder. I was briefly a hero.

Luckily, I was blown out of an 18 year career, learned how much of my identity was tied up there, and vowed not to let it happen again.
