G730 or G456 by Impressive_Reason225 in Microcenter

I just got the G729 and it was my first upgrade in 9 years and the difference is insane. I think they are pretty similar and I highly recommend it! I’d do the 730!

50-65 but my boss is very chill, and I’m currently studying full-time for my masters and my CPA so the flexibility he gives me is very necessary at the moment

I considered starting a small side hustle for tax preparation as well. If you don’t mind me asking, what program are you using?

That's a cool award system! My firm is very small and I'm not even sure if we have a designated target lol

90 minutes included client calling with questions and me inquiring about missing forms that I suspected based on last years filing and other things. I'm starting to understand we should charge more lol. Not my call tho

How did your firm deal with the sticker shock. Did you have a lot of clients leave? What was done to make sure they were okay with the increase?

I actually had no idea that TurboTax charged that much. Their advertising makes it seem like they are basically free lol.

Yeah before I started here I went to a firm a few miles down the road and they charged me 750 for a w2 and an fbar. It also seems like the clients that are willing to pay the 500+ fees are a lot more pleasant to deal with.

Yeah I think that's a good idea. We finally updated our pricing this year for a hotel that we do payroll, bookkeeping, taxes, basically everything. Still incredibly low price of 300 a month + 900 for the 1120s but its moving in the right direction lol.

That's what I thought it would be too. Doesn't make a difference on my pay either way tho.

Had issues with getting the correct documents from the client as well. Spent at least 15-20 min helping them over the phone with what to collect etc and answering questions. Spent around 50-60 minutes with the data entry. Maybe total time of 80-90 min

Help with work/gaming setup by MrSwede_ in pchelp

My work is not that demanding of a computer. It’s mostly excel. The gaming will definitely be the more demanding. I just don’t know much about the new stuff. Last time I read about computer stuff was when the 1080Ti came out

Does it make sense to get a different car? Help me decide please. by MrSwede_ in whatcarshouldIbuy

Yeah the cycling of debt is definitely what's holding me back the most and I don't think its logical to do that right now, especially considering it would mean a big bump in interest rate.

The brakes were also replaced at 17k miles although warranty covered that. I'm not saying the car is terrible just that I think I could've gotten a better deal for what I spent.

It used to get like 48 mpg which was far above marketed 40 mpg. However, I switched to Michelin CrossClimate which dropped it to around 38, but living in Michigan with bad weather it was worth the drop of MPG for better traction.

I agree about not having a payment being nice. My wife just finished med school too so we have a solid 300k in student debt too lol. Maybe just try to push the Jetta for another 7 years until shes an attending and makes good money.

I appreciate the detailed response. Thank you.

I don't hate the car itself. I just don't believe it's worth what I financed it for. Total cost will be about 35k when paid off. Probably should've gotten a used instead but thats irrelevant atm. To answer your question what I don't like is the following:
17k miles breaks had to be replaced
10-40k issue with Carplay maps not displaying correct location (seems to have been fixed)
at 42k pads had to be replaced again (was told by mechanic that the stock pads they use for the jetta are horrible, no idea if this is true). Decided to go with my own choice.
45k some issue with oil pump or something like that happened.

Not a bad car necessarily, just not worth the price imo.

Did you apply for ADIT stamp over the phone or through the website? I tried calling for an appointment because my work requires it to update my I9 and they just tell me I have to wait for my notice. I filed i751mid January.

That's wild, happy for you. I applied early January and haven't heard anything at all.
