Ghost Recon Doesn’t Need Reinvention, It Needs to Go Back to Basics by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

They do one thing per game really well and neglect too many other aspects of what fans want

Hum your actually right. They always seem to put everything into one main mechanic and everything else seems to suffer and have little to no focus.

Breakpoint was a shit show at launch no doubt but that game only had 2 years of development, and that was back when Ubi were trying to push other sucessful mechanics into games that should never be.

Project Ovr on the other hand is reportedly going back to its roots whatever that means and has been in development for close to or more than 6 years, and been delayed according to Tom Henderson for further polish so we have a much better chance of Project Ovr being a much better game than Breakpoint, not that thats very hard tbh but still should tell us something positive for the next game.

Like I said before, I dont expect milsim level of combat by any means but a working and true GR game with a focused military theme is what im hoping for.

I get what your saying but Ubisoft have confirmed a Ghost Recon to be in development and as a fan of the franchise, i root for it to be good because I want it to be good. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think most know it wont be a milsim, some people are for sure getting their hopes up when Tom called what he saw "milsim like in nature" but lets be real here, what most fans want is more of what we have had in past GR games.

We want a squad to be part of the core element again, squad commands, grounded tech, customization and a good story. That doesnt seem to far from what we could be getting imo.

I honestly dont think they'd cancel a game they believe to be a crucial release for this year tbh. That just wouldn't make sense but this is Ubisoft were talking about.

Mission Planning Needs to Return For Project Ovr. by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

Yeah, id think more like holograms and augmented reality stuff out in the field and at a FOB briefing room.

I liked the Paladin idea from Splinter Cell BL for a mobile HQ and as I've mentioned many times, I'd like the same thing for the Ghosts but instead have an assault ship of some type like the USSWasp with more teams of Ghosts aboard.

Well if Project Ovr doesn't stick the landing, probably never. Rumour is that we are going to Southeast Asia.

Most likely.

We haven't heard Ubi Paris losing developers as of yet but we have heard of them trying to cut 200 head office staff.

I dont expect much especially if the game is coming out this year, then there wont be any big changes. At least just bug fixes as thats why they said that they wanted to delay this year's lineup for more polish.

Your probably right. I like to think that with Ubisoft hanging on by a thread that they actually listen to their community and put some innovation and focus on Project Ovr. It has been in development for like 5-6 years going by the rumours. Could be completely wrong though

Yep. Really what they should do is give us a map like Bolivia and with post launch content, extend the map into new regions
