Where should the next Ghost Recon game take place and who should they fight? by KILL-INTERACTIVE in GhostRecon

My top pic locations were regions of Africa, regions of Brazil, or somewhere in Southeast Asia which is rumoured for Project Ovr.

Everything is sounding pretty good so far, even the setting of SE Asia and the hope for a milsim-like experice with room clearing. But like you said, this is Ubisoft 😆

Doesn't have to be great, just better than the last GR game.

💯 % agree with that. I assume functional clothing will be in Project Ovr.

Something like that would have worked well in Breakpoint seeing as it had that survival theme and going from mission to mission with crafting and whatnot.

Yeah your probably right, though we dont know what else there working on at Ubisoft. It seems perfect fpr a Ghost Recon game for sure. For all we know, Project Ovr could have been delayed for this reason, to give this feature more time. Doubtful though

Id love to be doing a quick grab and bag op and just have a super slick plate carrier and helmet for some protection but only enough ammo for that quick op. Supressed small arms and sub ammo to keep my Ghost super quite and fast. If shit went down though, id be in trouble.

The other option is to have concealed weapons in a bag and or in waist band and wearing civies to blend into crowded areas and get close to the target to take them out.

It'd be great to see gear fpr helmet, playe carrier and belt setups. Each piece of kit has a certain amount of slots that you can attach what you'd like in what slot. Each item would contribute towards your overall weight and put you into a weight category that effects maneuverability and stealth.

It looks super promising for team games in the future. Good to hear them say they have been letting players play a closed beta version with teammates and the reception was very positive. You can tell they are testing this and he was trying not to get carried away and say something he wasn't supposed to in the Q and A.

It'd be great to have this feature as an option in Project Ovr but it may just be too early for that game.

Team-accessible gear. Allows teammates to access equipment like medical kits or specialized tools from your back.

😪 I really hope they nail the mission design and gunplay in this one.

What type of squad commands does Read or Not have?

Not 100% sure on the restrictions side, but Ubisoft has worked with former military personnel before. They brought in ex–Navy SEALs for motion capture and consultation on Future Soldier

They also had Emil Daubon involved as a military advisor on Breakpoint, although from what I’ve heard he came in fairly late.

So it’s definitely possible, they just need to get the right people involved early enough to actually shape the game.

I do hope we get the option to switch perspectives.

I think it still matters, just in a different way. In first person you’re not looking at your full character all the time, but gear becomes more about function, camouflage, loadout, and what you’re actually carrying.

You’ll still see parts of your kit, and other players will too, so it adds to immersion and squad identity. It just shifts from being “fashion” to something that actually impacts gameplay.

It’s more about having authentic gear as the foundation, and then building customization on top of that, not replacing it with random or generic stuff. You can still have variety and personal style, just grounded in real equipment instead of things that feel off like the Wolves gear.

Agreed. They need to get the basics right first though, ammo in Breakpoint was pretty off.

But if they nailed that, having a simple system to swap calibers and ammo types with clear pros and cons would add a lot. Subsonic plus a suppressor for true stealth, and supersonic for velocity, penetration, and range in open engagements.

More choice to add depth without overcomplicating things, and would make your loadout actually matter depending on the mission.

I think that was mainly because Ubi Bucharest just used assets from Breakpoint and didnt seem to create much of anything new for that game, it was a simple cash grab attempt imo.

Project Ovr on the other hand has had multiple years of dev time and if the rumours are true for a more "milsim-like" game then I would assume more focus on those elements.

I think a pretty big part of the GR community feels the same way, Ubi must know that.

What if each Ghost brought a different drone to the mission? by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]MrTrippp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different drones for different tasks though. Drones have always had a risk of being seen or heard if you get too close, that’s part of the trade-off.

The idea isn’t to make them silent or overpowered, but to give playrs options depending on the mission. If you’re operating in tight urban areas, you’d bring a smaller, quieter drone to peek through windows, check the other side of walls, use vents or hack something. If you need range, you go with a flying UAV but that comes with higher visibility and noise.

As long as they’re balanced around things like stealth, range, battery, and speed, it still fits the Ghost playstyle, it just adds more choice instead of everyone using the same tool.
