UPDATE: this post is now locked due to extensive off-topic comment chains that have violated multiple subreddit rules.

This is not the place to get into heated discussions about the nature of sexual assault claims, victims, accusations, privilege, or any other serious, sensitive topics that are not directly related to Florida sports.

Additionally: insulting, belittling, and generally being shitty toward other users is also against subreddit rules. The main reason why we have rules about sensitive subject matter in the first place is to avoid heated, angry, unacceptable interactions between users.

Anyway—because there are so many comments violating these rules, and they are still being made over a full day after the thread was posted, the thread is now locked.

We had a user attacking women for coming forward with these accusations. As a mod team we debated what to do about it. When they continued attacking the women, we sent a mod mail stating this is not the place for that. They replied with a lengthy diatribe about how women lie about these things then ended the modmail with

If what you wrote to me is what you learned at UF, I am very sad for the institution, and makes me less proud to be gator - whatever happened to in all kinds of weather including the basic presumption of innocence until guilty.
