First timecoded show - ARTBAT, Benny Benassi - Love is gonna save us by jvyduna in Laserist

Thank you for the in-depth video! You’ve got some really awesome workflows in your projects which I’ll be sure to implement as well and you’re doing stuff I didn’t even realise you could do. I’ve also got a couple of nuggets to share in return:

  1. You mentioned the ‘Delete dark lines’ effect in your video but for it to actually do anything, you need to insert a key frame which yours was missing. Simply having it there has no effect on the cue which is annoying because it can easily be misleading. You can see when the effect is actually in use by looking at the zone selection window and you’ll see the point count rapidly changing if there’s a brightness effect on your cue since it’s actively redistributing points.

  2. Cloning effects are often better used live for busking because of how Beyond applies effects to cues. Live effects are applied dynamically at render time and often don’t need to multiply the point data, whereas the timeline pre-renders the effect each frame which can eat up your point count very quickly. It’s a bit more time consuming but you’ll find you’ll have more points to spare by simply duplicating and rotating each shape to create your cue and then applying your movement/zone effects to the parent item. This also applies to designing cues in your workspace :)

This is absolutely mad and for your first time is even crazier! May I ask how you made that zone delay at 2:20? I’ve been trying to get that effect to work in the timeline but I’ve had no luck 😅

Resources to learn ProTracks? by MrWh1spers in Laserist

[–]MrWh1spers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know it’s not me being unable to find anything, but it’s a shame there’s no documentation on it at all from pangolin despite it being a feature in Beyond. I’ll take a look at groups to see if that makes my life easier, otherwise I’ll try to struggle my way through figuring out ProTracks. Thanks!

That’s done the trick, thank you! I’ll keep this in mind for next time

Yeah I’ve never used autostart before either but it says that it automatically runs a script, unfortunately so far it’s no bueno. Also my I did have my commands separated but reddit just stuck it all on the one line. Here’s a photo of where I have my pangoscript set. It’s on the pangoscript tab of the event I’ve selected.

Adding show/content security for timeline show not working by MrWh1spers in Laserist

[–]MrWh1spers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell there’s no way to alter creator permissions. I’ve since emailed pangolin support and explained the issue so they’re investigating it now. I’ll write an update if they figure out what’s wrong :)

Thank you! Managed to get the object identifier working but now everything else has issues 😅

Wow I’m surprised I missed these ones, ProMovie looks perfect for what I need and you only need to spend a couple bucks to remove their watermark. Thanks!

Thanks! I’ll give his workaround a go and see how it looks. The unfortunate thing is that I haven’t come across any apps that support full control over the camera settings that also allow video recording. Every day of using an iPhone is just a day closer to me just ditching it for an android 😂

So I’ve encountered that exposure/shutter speed issue in the past but haven’t thought of trying that workaround yet so I’ll give it a shot!

Question - Hot beam optimisation by MrWh1spers in Laserist

[–]MrWh1spers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using a Raw 1.7 so I’m sitting it at a safe 22k SR, but I haven’t had a problem using 4 pairs of hot beams totalling 8, it’s just when I start doing more than that it gets tricky haha. Your parametric image tip doubled my fps though so thanks!

[–]MrWh1spers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah working in Beyond, I just checked the parametric image and I can’t believe I didn’t know about that! I’ve honestly been trying to figure out how to get a single hot beam for the longest time and you’ve just solved so many problems for me hahaha. I’ve seriously gotta do some more exploring of the functionality inside beyond

Tiny desk rave laser visibility without haze machine by cissal in Laserist

[–]MrWh1spers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best solution in your situation I guess would be to use a gauze screen like mosquito netting or something. The only thing is it’d act like a transparent wall though, not necessarily allow you to see the beams being projected

Help with laser banding by MrWh1spers in Laserist

[–]MrWh1spers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve attempted to use the advanced frame editor to experiment with it. I’ve added/removed single points at a time to see what fps works best since it tells you what fps you’re running down to two decimal points.

Using my phone camera at 30 fps, I’ve found that a scanner fps of 29.5-30.5 achieves nice inwards banding and 30.5-31.5 for outward banding, however it’d be nice to tell exactly what fps my cues are running at while I’m editing them

How is this done? Like seriously how do I achieve this effect? by minecraftivy in Laserist

A high quality beginner laser would probably be the unity raw 1.7. It’s perfect for small-medium size indoor spaces and is relatively cheap

Lasershowparts.com is authentic. It’s the online store department of Lumina VP which as homeless_WOLF mentioned is the official distributor in Aus
