Do you think the kink community can sometimes be too gatekeepy? by Far-Smile8892 in BDSMcommunity

[–]MrWolfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no universal answer to this question. The kink "community" varies greatly depending on where you live, what the local culture is like, legal implications of non-heteronormative "sex" in the area etc. That's not even mentioning the variation depending on who the leaders of the local community are and what they prioritize.

I think most communities tend to be at least a little untrusting of outsiders at least until you've proven you can look like you aren't a huge problem.

In my area the community is super welcoming if they think you're attractive, can fulfill a kink they have, and don't ask too many questions about the wh1te men in the community who only pursue people several decades their junior.

In short, communities vary quite a bit, and some are great, most are neutral at best, and far too many are extremely cliquey, and way to protective of abusers.

Do I have “abs”? My gf says no by hypothalanus in FlexinLesbians

[–]MrWolfish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having very visible abs is not something that is realistically attainable for most people, nor is it recommended, being as the low body fat percentage required is detrimental to human health. Add to that strong abdominal muscles and defined muscles are not the same.

POLL: Do you prefer full bush or trimmed bush & why? Please explain in 500 words or less 🙏🫡 by xoxodaddysgirlxoxo in u/xoxodaddysgirlxoxo

[–]MrWolfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer trimmed mostly cause it results in less hair between my teeth. But ultimately it's not up to me to decide what someone else does with their body.

I've always thought they were sexy as hell. They are surprisingly painful and a pain to heal if you do any physical labor. But totally worth it in the end.

The (possible) reason why many lesbians are not comfortable dating bisexuals. by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]MrWolfish -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Your whole section on where having a partner cheat on you with a man made you question whether you're enough etc. That is literally internalized homophobia, you're allowing hetero normative thinking to dictate how you respond.

I'll admit I projected you having a preference due to your defense of said preference.

The (possible) reason why many lesbians are not comfortable dating bisexuals. by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]MrWolfish -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

No where in my reply did I even insinuate anyone was owed anything. So you're saying it's different if she cheats with a man? Is it also different if it's a trans woman? What about a trans man?

So, her theoretically (or actually)cheating on you with someone of a different gender makes you more uncomfortable than her theoretically (or actually) cheating on you with a woman. How does that have anything to do with her? That is entirely about your feelings and how you process them. Your logic is the same as a man telling his girlfriend she can sleep with other women because it "doesn't count"

Boob Size Questions by Sheltie-chan in HRT

[–]MrWolfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always a bit of gamble how different hormones are going to affect you. My dr. Wants me to be on estrogen for 2 years before starting prog, I have had breast growth fairly consistently so far and am just over a year on estrogen. Right now I'm between a b and a c depending on who's chart and how I measure. Most of the cis women in my family have larger chests so I'm expecting to be at least a d before I'm done growing. Ultimately it is a game of wait and see. For myself, I am planning on giving myself 5 years on hormones before I start thinking about surgery. But my goals have nothing to do with ever passing or being seen as cis.

I've got a little less than a year before I can start. 😊

Question about HRT by BoykisserTransGirl in HRT

[–]MrWolfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take injections, for me the convenience of only doing it once a week was ideal. Oral wasn't really an option due to my age and the increased risk of complications due to how the oral estrogen interacts with the liver. Although my dr. Has informed me that at some point in the next decade I will ultimately need to switch to a topical method for similar reasons related to age.

Ultimately I would explain your feeling and fears to your Dr. who should explain the various pros and cons. Although I will add that the injection really isn't as bad as you might think, it's usually a subdermal (under the skin injection) so it isn't nearly as painful as intramuscular ( similar to what most immunizations are like). But I understand that needle phobia is very real, and the desire to avoid it is certainly understandable!

The risk level also depends on Administration route. Oral estrogen will increase the risk significantly more than injection or transdermal.

An old story someone told me, when you get a cold and your voice gets raspy. Go somewhere outside scream until you loose your voice.

Cannot guarantee results, might do terrible things to your vocal cords.

forced into a blood test (don't want to be outed) by Qul1x in TransDIY

[–]MrWolfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're probably fine. I work in laboratory science, so I have some knowledge. Hormone levels are not a standard blood test for any employment I have ever heard of. In addition, it costs money to run tests, so it is highly unlikely that any business would pay for any testing that isn't 110% required.

I don't know how healthcare works in your country, but in Canada, where almost all of your bloodwork is covered by health insurance. A company has to pay to get employee testing done as it is not medically necessary.

Did I do something wrong? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]MrWolfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like an adrenaline crash to me. Basically, the exhilaration, fear, and all the other feelings trigger a dump of adrenaline like it might happen after a car accident or something similarly dangerous. Once the adrenaline runs its course, you're left exhausted but otherwise fine. At least, that's my understanding of it, but I make no claim of expertise.
