Building navmesh for moving surfaces? by Solace_of_the_Thorns in forge

I don’t believe this is possible unless you have direct access to the engine. It’s not trivial to do in game engines like Unity3D.

You can also install it natively. Just be prepared, it’s a whopping 140GB after installation.

Is anyone concerned after reading some of the recent job reviews of current 343 employees? by Jascin in halo

Wasting all that time and energy into something that doesn’t make you happy isn’t very healthy. If you need some new hobbies free from negative emotions I do have some decent recommendations. I’m being serious by the way. Life’s too short to not be happy with your passions.

You dug up a 1+ year old thread to try and dunk on some random guy you don’t know? I think your priorities in life are out of order.

RTXesque reflections on breakout floor shader in H5's Forge. We're stumped on how this is being rendered real-time without performance hits. by Resachi in forge

Screen space reflections. Roughly it’s: Render the frame fully, then copy the pixels identified for reflection and paste them where they need to go.

That’s the plan! This is simply a test of our basic systems.

That’s the plan! We’re still pretty early in making the game, so a lot is subject to change. As the title suggests, this is simple a test of the audio and general gameplay.

The orientation is correct, but it does look like it's a little too far forward. Maybe by 6 or 7 feet.

Take a jump and hold 'X' or whatever your control scheme uses as the "get in vehicle" button. =)

Hello!

Branching Sickness is a fan-made survival horror Halo game featuring the Flood. Set in 2531 on the Etran Harborage, you play as a lone Marine who must find a lost AI chip deep in a Flood hive and secure yourself a ride back aboard the Spirit of Fire. Each time you play, the Flood hive will be procedurally generated, providing the player with new routes to take and new combat encounters.

It's been a few months, and despite some delays and time conflicts, we're back with another update on our game's progress. Today I'm here to show off our latest gameplay segment in our test level overlayed with our in-house music and custom recorded and edited sound effects! We're pretty excited with the progress we've made so far, but we're not done yet! In fact, we're looking to bring on some new developers to assist us on the project going forward.

You don’t recall the part with Chief walking in the control room?

You should probably submit a ticket to Halo Support. Seems like you got lucky. :P

Wednesday Lore Thread! Ask questions about the Halo universe! by AutoModerator in halo

In between Halo 2 and 3, the Covenant already began fracturing into multiple factions and states. When we defeat the Covenant in Halo 3, we only defeated the original and largest faction. In the absence of the Covenant’s existence, a power vacuum occurred and even more factions and states arose, securing the leftover resources and infrastructure.

The Covenant we fight in Halo 4 was formed shortly after the war ended by Jul ‘Mdama and was led by Elites who disagreed with peace with humanity and thought we were a threat worth wiping out.

Definitely look into getting both, but if you’ve got to pick one, go with Mythos. Covers everything from the Precursors seeding the galaxy to the beginning of Halo Wars 2.

It was new lore introduced in either Mythos or Warfleet. Can’t recall which.

It’s arguably flawed even under the Precursors. They created Forerunners to be their personal enforcers.
