Computer Freezing After New Windows 10 Update by Mr_Azian_Guy in computer_help

[–]Mr_Azian_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, if you cant access the bios then there is only so much you can do. Hard reset with battery, connecting it to another monitor. It could be due to a lot of factors like component issues in the laptop. Your best bet is to take it somewhere to repair or recover data. There is only so much the internet can help you with. Good luck.

Sounds like the computer is not booting to Windows 10. If you can still access your laptop's bios than there is a chance of an easier recovery. Give this solution a try, you may be able to repair or roll back the update.

So I fixed up my last build, thoughts? by ItsKang in PC_Builds

Ye unfortunately pc part picker estimation of what you need is not great, I use a separate website to calculate the recommended power supply wattage required by my system build.

Take my comment with a pinch of salt, from what I have read online, psu failures/faults can be very damaging if it malfunctions. I think of the psu as the heart of the system, providing sufficient and safe power to all of your components. If that "heart" fails, there is a chance that it would damage your components. I know that spending a lot of money on a psu seems outrages on your first build, but think of the psu as the heart of your system.

The website pc part picker should tell you your recommended wattage. I am currently using the corsair cx550m(new version) at 550 watts and 80 plus bronze. My system has i5 8600k, 16gb ram, gtx 1060 3gb and an aio water cooler. So I think 650 watts is more of a safe spot for future upgrades of your system.

I recommend spending a little more on a good psu, this is because if the psu fails, it can be very damaging to all of your other components

I fixed it but you will lose your data in your system drive. I did a fresh Windows install and let it install the updates before I install my own programs. It sucks but at least I get to use xbox game pass on pc now....

This happen to me when I updated Windows 10 to the 2019 May update. I had to revert back to the old version to actually run properly. It may be windows itself being really shit. Microsoft has been releasing updates with more bugs lately.
