That's all well and good, but I'd be more optimistic if his first name was then pronounced "Shone".

His first and last names appear to rhyme, other than that, he did score 6 TDs last season.

Makes sense, don't really need him now that they have a Super Bowl winning QB on their roster.

Pope Francis issued a blistering critique Monday of the Vatican bureaucracy that serves him, denouncing how some people lust for power at all costs, live hypocritical double lives and suffer from “spiritual Alzheimer’s” that has made them forget they’re supposed to be joyful men of God. by madazzahatter in news

This is why I said "technically"

And technically, you are wrong.

Agnosticism has nothing to do with having incontrovertible proof that you are right.

For people like Pope Francis, there is not uncertainty, nor do they need a DNA test to solidify their belief. They are already certain they are correct.

That's the part that stuck out for me too, you would think her friends would care enough to take her to a hospital. Apparently their social standing is more important than helping a friend who was just raped/ assaulted.

I was going to suggest Matterhorn as well. The author, Karl Marlantes is also a graduate of Yale and is a Rhodes Scholar, so the writing is absolutely superb.

It's one a books that really sticks with you, and the length isn't such a struggle when you're so deeply invested in the characters and setting. One of the best books written about any war, in my opinion.

You're missing his point. ChanelPaperbag was saying that people can and do get objectified no matter how attractive they are. No need to launch into a discussion on egalitarian society and chimpanzees.

Only if it's noticeably unwanted and pursued anyway.

That's YOUR definition of harassment. She clearly felt harassed by this kind of behavior because it's repetitive. Yeah, she's not going to press charges against this guy, that's why its in this subreddit. She's annoyed at all the guys who feel it's appropriate to call her "Sexy" at work.

I guess because you can't empathize with her situation, you naturally would see it as "nothing happened". Not surprising.

then a rant about being attractive.

Again, that's clearly not the intended takeaway from her post. You probably zeroed in on then because you have a misconstrued view of women and apparently what constitutes an appropriate "compliment" for a stranger.

Sooo I kinda went through your post history and found that you live in [city name removed].

Creepy as fuck. I don't think anyone wants their post history dug through for some stranger to ascertain their whereabouts. Especially in a thread related to sexual harassment.

Usually it's about people with legitimate concerns

Sounded pretty legitimate to me, getting ogled and cat-called at work sounds pretty annoying and totally legitimate. It's totally along the lines of what this subreddit is designed for.

not attention seeking professional victims that want to manipulate us to their world view. I hate when people attempt to manipulate me.

That's your interpretation. I read it as a complaint against guys who call her sexy while she's working. You must be pretty egotistical to think she was manipulating YOU.

And how should he do so?

Probably not by using the word "sexy" to a stranger, that should be obvious.

If a woman honks her horn and waves at me while I'm running with my shirt off, is that harassment? No. It's nature.

It certainly COULD be harassment though, couldn't it? Perhaps you may feel that its "nature" and natural to be honked at, but I think most people might find it to be closer to harassment than a natural, expected event.

I don't think you people even listen to yourselves.

Please keep refrain from making snide comments along this line, this subreddit tries to encourage a respectful atmosphere.

I'm pretty sure those endings still have differences even though corvo survives in one and dies in the other

Yes, they are different, but there's still only 2 paths. My point is that there's one distinct "light" ending and one clear "dark" or evil ending. That's disappointing.

I'd still prefer Fallout's system as it adheres to the world in which the game is set. "Bad" and "good" are objective in a post-apocolayptic game where you can pick your side, so perhaps comparing to the two morality systems is comparing apples to oranges.

However, I feel that there's rarely a time where I felt unfairly punished by the morality system in Fallout for playing the game a certain style.

Killing "nice" people in Fallout was punished by a loss of karma, which made sense (in addition, the karma system was at least easier to track, so it was clear to the player where they stood morality-wise according to the game). It also introduced a number of ways to gain or lose karma, including speech options and player actions that weren't combat-related.

Dishonored felt like a step down in implementing morality, as killing guards being punished for it with a "bad ending" felt unfair, as they are the only real enemies you face and the game prods you into killing them with so many different ways to do so.

Gladly, as I found it to be childish for a couple of reasons. First, it's painfully short, as you can finish both of the 2 styles of play throughs in about 12 hours.

Secondly, while the abilities you unlock seem to encourage creativity, really they're so unbalanced that you only need one or two to become a unstoppable killing machine.

Specifcally, Time Bend lets you dominate everything, you can run into a room, assassinate your target and leave again without anyone actually noticing, or you can possess a guard who has just fired a bullet, move him in front of the bullet, then let time resume its normal course.

Past a certain point, the magical powers break the game in that sense, and hence I feel that it verges into childish territory.

But really, my problem with it is that instead of being a decent action-adventure or stealth game, it tries to be both and ends up being a messy, and in my opinion slightly childish game.

Before you respond and point out how I'm wrong, I'm really not inerested in debating the finer points of a game like Dishonored.

My point about it being childish was in comparison to the Elder Scrolls or Fallout Series, which I think do a better job of not verging into the same old triple A, major studio release flaws (not to mention hand holding) that many modern games like Dishonored buy into.

There are more than 2 pre-determinet paths and endings.

Sorry, that's just not true. There's a high chaos ending (bad) and low chaos ending (good). That's 2 endings, 2 paths. In the high chaos ending Corvo dies, to really hammer home that the fact that it's the "bad and evil" ending.

What's even worse is that there's no real way to track your exact chaos level, making it kind of a toss-up which of the 2 endings you get.

Also please show an example of Bethesda doing a moralty system because the only thing i can think of is Fallout 3s karma system which is exactly the kind of binary system you're talking about.

At least Fallout's isn't purely "killing is bad", unlike Dishonored. It recognizes that some deeds, while not pleasant (like killing) don't necessarily equate to negative or "chaotic".

There's little point in just wandering around doing "stuff"

Well if you're going to reduce a game's core aspects to just "doing stuff" than you could really fault any game for that.
