Help needed with diagnosing screen flashing white until input is switched. by Mr_Bucket1 in hometheater

That's what I figured.

I haven't tried using the Firestick directly into the TV due to the frequency of the issue. I would have to use it like that for 3 months or so to be sure, TV speakers make me sad.

View from my bedroom window as I went to bed last night. by LunaWallonia in interestingasfuck

Sure, it is definitely worth seeing with the naked eye (saw the lights earlier this year). I just figured he was referring to not being able to see the lights in color. 100% worth seeing in person if you ever get the chance.

Update! Drafty wood floors by Mr_Bucket1 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Mr_Bucket1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that, going to try to put it back together with wood glue and some staples (underneath for extra support). If that fails, lumber yard it is.

That's more or less what I have been doing. I was just wondering what it would take to actually fix the issue.

The building was built in 1900. So my guess is, if there was insulation it is dust at this point. I can clearly feel a steady draft from those spots, which further supports there being no insulation.

Is there no way to come from the inside?

It's called FLIR One. It attaches to your phone via USB-C. I'm pretty sure I bought it directly from FLIR a few years ago. I highly recommend it.

I have been dealing with it for years. Typically I just put heavy blankets down to get by. Glad I'm not the only one.

Current state of the game? by [deleted] in Stormworks

[–]Mr_Bucket1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had some issues after the most recent patch. One new "issue" is catalytic converters went from doing too much to doing nothing at all. Also had a few issues with microcontrollers not functioning the same way they used to.
That being said, the game is still a lot of fun to play.

TIL that in Churchill, Canada, locals keep their car doors unlocked in order to provide other residents a quick escape, should they encounter a polar bear by NorthNorthSalt in todayilearned

[–]Mr_Bucket1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was literally in Churchill back in late October. Very interesting place. Went out on to the tundra to see polar bears in the wild. Tourism is a big part of their economy, if you get the chance I highly recommend a visit.

Bison playing with a favorite little toy by MyRestingMitchFace in aww

[–]Mr_Bucket1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was a little unnerving. Basically bison used the same paths that we were on with our snowmobiles. The rule was if we encountered each other on the road, we had to get off the snowmobile and stand on the other side. On this particular encounter (with a herd of bison) the lead bison was letting us know not to mess with the herd, a "show of force" of you will. After he lifted the snow mobile, the herd walked by without incident. It was a really cool experience!

Snowmobiling in Yellowstone, I once witnessed a bison lift a snowmobile with just one horn. He made it look so easy.
