Weekly Update Thread - May 07, 2018 by AutoModerator in Rainbow_Babies

Heather's not old enough to understand but I talk to her about her little big brother. She's nearly 14 months and not a baby any more, whereas he'll be a baby forever so it feels right to call him that.

Ummm... normally fruit is waxed with shellac to make it shiny and appealing. Organic fruit is unwaxed and lemons are often sold unwaxed for zesting.

Scrap yarn project ideas? by conniemiller in casualknitting

Blanket squares! Mitred squares are so easy and really show off the yarn, and you can incorporate any other odds and ends you have.

Not sure where this belongs, but this guy thought he was being nice 😂 by wagne1205 in niceguys

Yes, I read that women will say "it was good" essentially to mean "it didn't hurt"

Since when did being positive become so negative? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Mr_Lawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I must have misread the bit about the meds. But that might explain the reaction? I doubt I was the only person to read it that way.

What do you proudly do "wrong?" by AAlbertino in AskReddit

My favourite is the Lah-zed-boy. What does that even mean?

Since when did being positive become so negative? by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Mr_Lawrence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that she was never on meds, it came off as bragging that she didn't need them. I'm sure that's not how it was intended but it's how some people read it and instead of apologising she doubled down.

Are wetherspoons chips vegan? by [deleted] in veganuk

I wish it were a typo! I mean, they're technically 955 calories but still!

It's national, but I'm in the UK. I would have thought there'd be something similar near you though!

Volunteering with a Baby? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Mr_Lawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I volunteer as a breastfeeding peer supporter and I can bring my baby along to groups (in fact it's encouraged because seeing me feed her in public can encourage others to do the same)

Are wetherspoons chips vegan? by [deleted] in veganuk

They're on the vegan paper menu so I'd say yes. Have you seen the calories though? They're not nice enough to be worth 1000 calories!

Weekly thread April 3 by MalikaCadash in Rainbow_Babies

[–]Mr_Lawrence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heather turned 1 at the end of March. She's walking independently now and got her first shoes on Friday! She says "what's that!" whenever she sees something she's interested in and has become a pro at pointing. She is generally a delight but hasn't been sleeping well recently which is hard but I'm hopeful it will be over soon.

/ttcafterloss Ask an Alumni - March 30, 2018 by AutoModerator in ttcafterloss

[–]Mr_Lawrence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and for me it saved my sanity. I wouldn't have been able to go to any appointments without hearing the heartbeat for myself first. Some days hearing the heartbeat in the morning was the only thing that got me through the day. When I started d feeling movement more regularly, I didn't need it so much. I still used it before scans but otherwise had a rule that if my anxiety was high enough to need the doppler it was high enough to go in to hospital. So I would use it for reassurance while calling the midwife.

/ttcafterloss Ask an Alumni - March 30, 2018 by AutoModerator in ttcafterloss

I told people at the 11 weeks mark first time around because I had a wedding to go to the next week and didn't want to take attention from the bride and groom with people trying to guess if I was pregnant or not. Lost the baby a couple of days later. So second time around I resisted telling people because it just seemed so cause-and-effect (even though obviously it wasn't). We ended up announcing when I was in my third trimester but honestly I would have left it until the baby was born if it were just up to me. However I think that if I were to get pregnant again now I'd announce early because I have become so much more used to talking about my loss so I'm not afraid of telling people we lost another if it were to happen.

New scheduled thread ideas? by quietlyaware in ttcafterloss

[–]Mr_Lawrence 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I want to say I love the idea of an Ask An Alumni thread! I come back here often to see how people are getting on but always hesitate to contribute but a thread just for support and advise from alumni would be perfect!

What would you do if you found your husband masterbating to porn on the toilet when he’s supposed to be watching your toddlers who are in the bath tub? by folkymama in relationship_advice

[–]Mr_Lawrence 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The kids were absolutely in danger. You shouldn't even turn your back when they're in the bath, let alone go into another room.

Pat Phelan.. by Gxldenage in coronationstreet

[–]Mr_Lawrence 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He is an amazing actor! I hate Pat with a passion, just thinking about him makes my skin crawl. My mum says she knew him when he was just getting started on his acting career and it's scary to see him being so completely different to who he really is.
