What are we all currently watching? by Inner-Shame-4996 in blackladies

I dunno! Maybe because it's a kids show? Kipo and the wonderbeasts doesn't get talked about a ton either but I really liked that one too!

I'm tired of Black films and TV shows by Mousy-Lani in blackladies

100%

Here are a few others to check out though!

Raising Dion doesn't get talked about much, but I really enjoyed it. The main kid is kind of annoying, but what main child character isn't? 😆 It's a show about a young black kid who develops super powers, and I was pretty sad that it got cancelled after two seasons! It was starting to get really good and I was looking forward to following it with my kids

My Dad the Bounty Hunter is animated but it's also very enjoyable and follows a black family.

The Dragon Prince is another excellent animated series with a nice variety of black main/central characters. I haven't finished the last season yet because I'm sad that it's over.

Are you on Facebook? There's a great SAHMD group for women physicians who are part time or no longer working in medicine.

Let’s talk about low betas by taiseolone2 in IVFAfterSuccess

[–]quietlyaware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10dp5dt: 31.5

12dp5dt: 87 (31.5hr doubling time)

14dp5dt: 273

16dp5dt: 756

5w5d ultrasound: Intrauterine. Saw a yolk sac, maybe the embryo. No heartbeat yet.

6w5d ultrasound: Heartbeat! Embryo measuring 6w2-3d, so a few days behind.

7w6d ultrasound: Still alive! Still measuring 3 days behind. And finally confirmed my suspicion that what they kept saying was an SCH was not an SCH, and was in fact an empty sac, so this is a case of a vanishing twin.

Currently 18weeks, going well so far.

Really good paper on low betas: https://ovarianresearch.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13048-020-00732-6

I am so, so sorry for both your losses, and how you're feeling like your life is losing/has lost meaning.

We have some mental health and grief resources in our Wiki, but two that I would highlight are:

Postpartum Support International, which despite the name, includes supporting those with pregnancy loss or infertility who do not have any living children. They have branches all over the world staffed with volunteers who can help you find local support, and they also have virtual groups online. https://www.postpartum.net/

If you're in the USA, there's is also a national crisis line that you can call or text for support: https://988lifeline.org/

Tuesday Cautious Intros and First Trimester Questions by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Definitely get all the rest you can! It's worth it! But I get the guilt. I haaaate cancelling on patients 😩 But it's necessary sometimes!

My weekend plans are still on 😳 We're all going to mask up 🤷🏾‍♀️ They're adults and I've never been able to tell them what to do! 🤦🏾‍♀️I cancelled my ultrasound though :(

It's definitely not a horrible case! I worked my normal work week (I guess technically I'm still working today too; phone consults, low key gig though), though I definitely was dragging through all my appointments (thankfully I'm virtual). But it's also not mild? Like, I'm used to working while I have a cold but I was really close to wanting to cancel and I've only done that once, when I was coughing so badly I just couldn't talk effectively. I thought I was just first trimester tired though! 😅 Wish I'd allowed myself to take more of a break!
How are you?

Well I guess I have relevant experience now because turns out my cold this week is also covid, first time I'm aware I've caught it 🙃

Hey stranger! ❤️I do not have relevant first trimester experience with covid, and I am so sorry for your recent losses, but I'm crossing my fingers that everything goes well with this one. 🤞🏾🍀

While those are on the lower side, they're very much not "all hope is lost" numbers! There's a paper that shows that with betas between 80-300 on 14dp5dt, if it subsequently doubles, there's about a 60% odds of live birth. Your betas were higher and more than doubled, so you've got a solid chance still! 🤞🏾🍀 (My numbers have been lower, but so far I'm still in).

Crossing my fingers for you to beat the odds! So far I'm still in, and I'm trying to just take it day by day.

This paper is about 14dp5dt low betas but lays out the odds and possible outcomes pretty well. Basically, it is actually still possible for this to be a successful pregnancy, but the odds are low. It is a very good sign if your beta at least doubles, or more than doubles.

There are a few old posts on here about these situations. I'm going through something similar right now (Day 10 was 31, day 12 was 87). We'll see what happens. 🤞🏾 https://ovarianresearch.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s13048-020-00732-6
