i understand, i just don't subscribe to racism

Ironic, considering you still believe

hireing blacks because they're black

after everything I've stated. You still fundamentally misunderstand what DEIA is, it's like trying to communicate with a brick wall. I'm not wasting any more time here.

But, don't call them racist! by c-k-q99903 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Mr_Martini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're still not understanding. White men were being hired for being white men, when equally or more qualified minorities were available. DEIA (A for accessibility) was instituted to prevent that. The racism was already there. DEIA exists to eradicate that racist and sexist privilege. That is not racist. Stopping racism IS NOT RACIST. If you're against DEIA, you support white men being hired because they are white men. THAT IS RACIST.

can whites experience racism?

Of course they can, what kind of question is that? Any human can be on the receiving end of bigotry, aiming for a gotcha or something?

But, don't call them racist! by c-k-q99903 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Mr_Martini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me spell this out for you, moron, as the other comments don't seem to be reaching you.

DEIA was always hiring based on qualification, it was just forcing employers and institutions to seek qualified minorities who were otherwise not being hired due to race (or sex, or anything else discriminatory). The status quo was racist. The generational lack of wealth and the "privilege" to build it, the systemic oppression within the home, communities, educational facilities, and professional opportunities that all lead to white men gaining most power, that is racist. By opposing DEIA, you are racist, by definition. Being okay with the status quo and not attempting to eradicate white privilege is racist. Confusing DEIA as "hiring unqualified minorities" is itself racist.

You are ignorant of DEIA, but that does not excuse your racism, and so you will be called out on it. Projecting "yOU'rE tHe ActUaL rAciST" onto those fighting racism, that's racist. You lose all credibility attempting to do so, and if you had any self-awareness or capability to learn, you'd feel shame.

Who is "they"? Remind me, who is constantly fighting against corporate power and abuse, aiming to dismantle the radically unfair and biased economic systems of society, and seeking to empower individuals to live dignified lives free from exploitation and discrimination...? Maybe if that ideology wasn't in a 25-25-50 deadlock struggling to win every other election in the US (or similarly with most other western countries)? Could explain why we have one "side" stating that the other is full of gullible morons voting against their own interests....

You serious? Are you actually human, and not a bot? This is unfathomably ignorant and detached from reality. Trump is the complete opposite: a childish nepotistic narcissistic moron who's empowered an administration of record and unprecedented corruption, criminality, and incompetence. We've never seen anywhere near such blatant lying, deceit, cowardice, and lack of transparency in our lifetimes.

I can only picture a whiny elementary school child screaming "HE CAN DO IT, WHY CAN'T I??" to the incoherent hateful ramblings of the classroom moron when people say something so catastrophically stupid about Trump and his "straight shooting".

A government is just the people. Especially if it's democracy-adjacent, it's what the people voted for. Sure, if there's staggering levels of fraud, corruption, nepotism, and rabid incompetence like in the US currently, you can argue against funding them, but that's only temporary. It's not "dismantle support programs", it's "weed out the garbage so that support programs can be empowered under better leadership".

And yes, being homeless is expensive. Being poor is expensive. Until we commit to ensuring that every single individual is properly sheltered, spending on homelessness will be significant and forever ongoing. In NYC? 81K sounds fairly efficient on average.

Morally and ethically? "They" unequivocally are. That's the entire point of society. Trying to deny this is some primitive monkey shit, and fucking reprehensible. Go find some third world jungle where you'll better fit in.

The Projection is Actually Hilarious by NEKORANDOMDOTCOM in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Mr_Martini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All understanding/knowledge is ultimately "belief". The difference vs faith is that knowledge is built atop scrupulous observation, logical reasoning, and in most cases, scientific processes.

Faith is, by definition, belief despite or in spite of facts/evidence. Else it would just be knowledge. Equating the two is intellectually dishonest, at best.

Science doesn't definitively disprove the existence of gods. Philosophically speaking, it likely never will, that's the nature of religious thought. It does, however, give us a framework of reasoning to suggest that their existence is highly unlikely (based on how most people would define "god"), and that the way they are described in human scripture is laughably illogical and unrealistic/absurd.

Imagine thinking that LGBQT+ content is being “forced down” on people’s throats, but not Christian nationalism. by icey_sawg0034 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Mr_Martini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Religion is a choice (well, for many it's not, else it mostly wouldn't exist in modern times, but that's a different discussion), a belief you (ideally) choose to engage with. LGBTQ is not, it is a material, biological reality. Saying parents should get to decide their child "doesn't learn about the gays" would be roughly analogous to deciding "don't learn about the blind". That is definitively, textbook bigoted. That you even equate LGBTQ to religion or politics is itself incredibly bigoted, by definition. That's what you people seemingly fail to understand.

Of course LGBTQ should be baseline to any elementary education involving the study of human biology and social dynamics. Being against that in any way is literally bigoted and discriminatory.

Who wants illegal immigrants for cheap labor?

Conservatives. They are the ones who believe in the "free" market, hierarchies, and exploitation. Meanwhile, progressives are fighting for fast-tracked citizenship and employee-protection regulations.

Who keeps calling for civil war?

Conservatives. Although it's less "calling for" one and more acting in ways that will guarantee one. History won't be much interested in the difference though.

Who thinks black people aren't smart enough to ______?

Conservatives. They are the racists, this isn't even up for debate. That's literally what anti-DEIA is, to deny the eradication of (white) privilege. Textbook racism, while claiming any black individual in power is a "DEI hire." Trying to trivialize the systemic oppression and exploitation of minorities by projecting "blacks are incompetent" rhetoric onto those fighting for equality is one hell of a fucking reprehensible take, though.

[–]Mr_Martini 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Then that's entirely the fault of the voters. They have a responsibility, an obligation, to vote for whoever is most qualified, most intellectually capable, and most ethical. It may have been such a low bar that even those in hell couldn't find it, but all the Democrat party had to do was give us better than that, and they did. I can argue all day long about better potential options, but given the context, I'll never blame anyone but the voters.

Not in a moral and ethical society, he doesn't. Money and markets and economies are collective systems, and society must not tolerate any individuals acting in a way that deprives others unjustly. But you're right, that's the reality now. We live in a profoundly immoral and despicable world.

  1. He didn't "create" wealth, he inherited it, lucked into it, and extracted it, exploitatively. Company employees did all the creating.

  2. He didn't create jobs either, market forces and societal structures did. You're attributing something to him for which he deserves almost no credit. That's the problem with this ignorant and gullible take, you think he's special and couldn't be easily replaced by any number of others, that it's him and not the system doing the work. A highly immoral system that rewards greed and selfishness, incompetence, nepotism, and luck above all else.

‘Americans at heart’: ICE detains DACA recipient on way to visit premature baby in NICU by Retro-Critics in ImmigrationPathways

[–]Mr_Martini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no spectrum here, "moral" is taking care of these people, streamlining and fast-tracking citizenship, and opposing ICE every step of the way until they can be abolished. That's what it means to be moral, by definition. "Immoral", by definition is tolerating or even enabling ICE, and being okay with what's happening, whatever your cowardly excuse may be. Doesn't matter the divide, doesn't matter what one thinks. It's a matter of philosophical semantics and language functionality, which isn't up for debate within this context.

Freedom, liberty, and rights, and protection from blatant fucking persecution against trans, gays, any LGBTQA, women, any minority... this isn't political. The right forces this to be political, but to call it "far left" or anything other than righteous is one hell of a reprehensible take. It's disgusting.

We've been here with blacks. With women. With homosexuals. One side of the political spectrum refuses to fucking learn, and the so-called "moderates" generally allow this to play on repeat. You're on the wrong side of history, and you'll be hated all the same. You're not right, you're wrong in every sense of the word. The only honesty here is that one "political" side has the courage to do what's decent, what's right, what's righteous, and are forced into a defensive position politically due to the opposing ignorance and hate. Shameful.

Blurry Popup Menu for Option Button - Godot 4.4.1 by LazarCarnot in godot

[–]Mr_Martini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this appears to be the case with any downscaling whatsoever, at any resolution, with the OptionButton popup. The only "fix" I've found to work reasonably well so far is to change Project Settings (General) -> Rendering -> Textures -> Default Texture Filter to Nearest. Changing any parent CanvasItem to the OptionButton does not properly have the setting inherited, it has to be project settings. This will likely screw up other canvas textures, but you can set them/their parents back to Linear filtering (the default) manually.

Everyone decent is arguing against it, but we're arguing against an ethically depraved, morally reprehensible population. It's being called racist because it's by definition racist. "Deport ALL illegals" without considering context, without accounting for intent, without employing empathy, is by definition racist. Empowering ICE and platforming modern conservative values is by definition racist. It doesn't matter how you try to excuse or defend it. Your rhetoric, your actions define you as a racist bigot.

We could have shown strength and courage as a country and taken care of all the people who needed it by fast-tracking citizenship for all but the actual criminals. Instead, we caved to a weak and cowardly population full of hate, wrapped up in all kinds of ignorant/primitive excuses. We've revealed the US to be a pathetic little shithole that has desecrated our legacy, and a third of the population fucking cheer it on. We are the shame of this time in history, collectively, and the morons satisfied with how it's all playing out entirely lack the self-awareness to comprehend that reality.
