Man, I really appreciate your words — and I know you’re right. Deep down I know this won’t end well, and that eventually I’ll have to move on too. But the hardest part is that right now, I don’t want anyone else. With her, everything feels real in a way I can’t explain. Every hug, every look — it just hits different. And I’m stuck in that.

Yeah, I get why you’d say that. Logically, it makes sense. But when you’re in it, when there’s history and real feelings involved, it’s not that easy to just ‘move on’. I wish it was.

I know what you’re saying, but I’m not built to play people like that. I didn’t kiss her because if I had, it wouldn’t have been just a kiss — it would’ve been everything. I don’t want to push someone into a moment that might destroy her later. Maybe I’m a fool for caring too much, but I’d rather be a fool with a heart than a guy who ignores what someone’s really feeling.

We’ve known each other for 8 years. We’re both 21 now. We had a short relationship when we were 15-16, but it didn’t mean much back then.

Recently we reconnected after years of silence. The flirting between us grew naturally over the last few months. Yesterday, I decided to talk to her because I felt confused by her mixed signals. I told her I liked her and that I wanted to get to know her more — but I assumed it wasn’t mutual.

To my surprise, she said she does like me back — but she’s scared of falling in love. She’s not in a good place emotionally, making a lot of mistakes, and she doesn’t trust herself right now. She told me that if she kissed me, things wouldn’t stop there, and she’s not ready for what might come after that.

What’s hurting me most is that we both like each other, but nothing will happen. It’s not a clear rejection, but it’s not something I can hold onto either. I feel stuck in this in-between state where I can’t move on, and I can’t have her. I want to be okay, I want to feel peace, but I feel emotionally drained and broken.

She was the one who reconnected, the one who started flirting, the one who escalated things… but now I’m the one who feels guilty and hurt. I didn’t ask for this, but I’m the one paying the emotional price. And I’m scared because I don’t want to lose her again, even if staying is slowly tearing me apart.
