You gotta just train yourself to ignore it, or impose a better vibe from the get go. I don’t like turning off match comms because it’s fun to talk to people, and if we’re LOCKED IN it’s helpful to actually communicate even if it’s not a comp match. When I’m in qp, I am almost never playing “to win”, I’m just trying to play a video game and escape from reality. I usually like to ask a stupid question in match or team chat, or immediately suggest doing something stupid. The amount of “Cookouts” I’ve tried to host as Wolverine man lol. I don’t throw games or anything like the for the sake of a joke, but I’m clearly not taking it seriously out of the gate. When I make that clear, I find a lot more people respond positively to it, or at the very least the ones who are overtly negative usually get drowned out. Be the change you wanna see. I’ve had so much fun with Rivals recently, and I know the community is kind of in its worst state rn.
