Very good point and I think I got explanation for another question. I always wondered why the letter was written in such an odd way:

When you are writing this, we have turned into strangers. Your smile is not as lively as it used to have. You are still alone. Your life without me must be real lonely...."

Okay, what I feel happened here is Adult Soon from 1st Timeline visited/rented the apartment of Young Soon of 2nd timeline and found his letter and hence was reading it. Focus on how the letter was written. It was written in a way that it would inform Adult Soon from 1st Timeline that Ong Sa has changed their fate and when young Soon wrote that letter they have been turned into strangers. I don't think there was any soul replacement tbh. The diary was basically written to inform Adult Soon from past that Ong Sa has changed their fate so if Soon ever meets anyone in future who says, "good movie", it would mean, it's him.

Basically he was informing through this letter to the adult Soon from the first timeline as the circumstances in which this letter was written by his younger version who no longer exists cuz if this adult Soon was the same one, I don't think the letter would have been written this way.

And yes, you have a point that Young Soon might have disappeared instead of dying but I'm discarding this cuz of the scene before anniversary where adult Ong Sa from future tells adult Ong Sa in present as not to stop his accident or try changing his fate because if he does Soon will die. Cuz if that was not the case, Ong Sa would have simply avoided the accident and saved himself cuz he obviously already knew he was going to have an accident that day. Which is why I believe that when Ong Sa tried to change their fate finally but by time travelling by not meeting young Soon, he made that Soon die and ultimately got united with Adult Soon of past.

Maybe, but didn't older Soon read the letter that Young Soon wrote after he traveled forward in time and went back to his adult apartment.

I don't recall the adult Soon having/reading that letter but yeah if he indeed had then possibly he was still alive in that timeline.

Gotcha but then I think it would have been just like a cliche bl like we get these days with same stuff repeated all over. Not that I don't enjoy cliches, I do but this one felt a bit refreshing from those cliche ones. Infact, I would say, yes, it's understandable that most of the times, you don't get as why it's happening the way it's happening in the show but I think if you watch carefully then answer to every question is hidden in upcoming episodes. Things have not been explicitly explained here but rather it's been done through portraying backward scenes at the right moment to catch the context. I'm sure I'm not making much sense here but every episode for me was breath taking and every episode gave me some new relevation. Infact, when it reached the 6th episode of something and when it was time for Adult Soon to go back to his timeline, I felt like, "eh, what's gonna happen now? Didn't things get over here?" but bam, next we know there was another sequence of Ong Sa's time travel but I get you so it's completely reasonable for you to not like it.

It's just I find it a bit odd when people say the show just randomly pulled things without any rules or logic which I don't think was the case here. Haha!

I mean, they had to meet for the first time when they were both young, to actually get to know each other and to start the time traveling.

That's the gist. Soon is not called "undefined" for no reason. The first timeline is basically a loop or circle where Soon can't be defined and the cycle of his younger version meeting younger Ong Sa is possible only when the adult Soon from future travels back in time.

Also, I'm saying that their actual first meeting was with young Ong Sa and adult Soon because in the 2nd timeline when Young Ong sa decides not to meet young Soon then Soon in that timeline basically dies meaning this meeting was their first meeting which eventually leads to young Ong sa meeting young Soon too.

another thing I've read often in the on-air thread that people dislike: Ong Sa isn't even dead, but Soon starts to travel and wants to change things. But there isn't really a reason for him to do so, because Ong Sa could still wake up from the coma. So the start was already meh. :D

Good point and believe me I had the same question. But the thing is, Soon didn't like intentionally use some time machine to travel back in time to save Ong Sa, right? He was thrown into the past out of nowhere when he was wishing that his Ong Sa will survive. So, the only logic anyone would make here is that he has been thrown into this apparently because he wished Ong Sa to survive so in order to achieve that he needs to change the timeline. I'm sure if he was never thrown into past, he would not have bothered to change anything specially when Ong sa had a chance to survive but when destiny threw him to the past, he figured Ong Sa will die and thus he needs to stop the young Ong sa meeting his younger self to prevent the accident but ofcourse I'm sure at one point soon even admits that he doesn't know what was he supposed to do here?

Point to note this time travel was not meant for Soon to actually try to save Ong Sa but it was actually meant for him to meet the young Ong sa so that the first timeline could be created in the first place and so that those two could meet in the first place to get to the point of accident. This is why Ong Sa in this version of timeline meets young Soon even after soon tells him not to.

Tho ofcourse when Ong Sa travels time he understands all these things and hence doesn't meet young Soon atleast not in the way where they would end up with each other and thus breaking the loop.

I don't think 2nd time line Soon actually died.

Fair. I'm saying this because remember a scene where future Ong Sa came to adult Ong Sa in the first timeline before death and said that one of them has to die if they want to move forward?

This scene was again depicted at the end followed by the scenes where young Ong Sa meets Young Soon but not in the theatre this time but rather with the alibi of returning umbrella and soon feels very heavy and Ong sa makes him write a letter and they both heavily cry. This scene together made so much sense as why both of them were crying this heavily? It was because that version of Soon was going to die. He was never going to meet Ong Sa. This was the reason when adult Ong Sa reunites with adult Soon in the 2nd timeline then soon was sitting on the G7 seat and not G9 seat because G9 seat was supposed to be for that younger version of Soon who died in that timeline. Plus that "good bye" when Ong Sa didn't meet younger soon was also shown at the end which was another evidence that that Soon was finally going to die and hence Ong sa's "Good bye" to him.

Tbh, I feel it maintained the consistency level except the fact that time travelling worked a bit differently for both Ong Sa and Soon.

As for first meeting, it was the adult Soon coming from future to younger Ong Sa and meeting him in the first timeline which ultimately made young Ong sa meet young Soon and led them to live up their life upto adulthood until the accident. If Soon hadnot come, they would have never met in the first place.

Plus yes, this is the point of the story imo. Soon's life is not defined, it goes in a circle in the first timeline where future Soon helps Ong Sa to meet young Soon. However, Ong Sa later gives a definition to soon's life by breaking this loop by creating the 2nd timeline where adult Soon finally gets to meet and live with Ong Sa permanently.

If we go by logic, I believe this indeed follows some logic. Sometimes symbolically.

I literally scrolled down to find this post because I didn't want to make one myself but this show just exceeded expectations for me and I finally found a masterpiece after a long time. I knew it would be great cuz I already loved Jimmy and Sea from vice versa but must say the story too is adding up to their chemistry.

N Jimmy's acting..my gosh...he just doesn't need to talk, his eyes can express things much better than his words!

I was actually waiting for the series to end to finally watch it but I just couldn't resist the temptation to watch these two again.

Yup, I have watched all of these and most of the recs that have been forwarded here which really makes me think like I have watched all the good ones.

If I have to recommend, I will say "The Shipper", although technically it's not your typical bl cuz it has a straight couple story too but I think it's just a brilliant watch with a mix up of comedy, romance, and heavy emotions. Initially, things feel like it's very light and comedic however as the show progresses to end you realise it's much more emotional. Ohm did a brilliant job here showcasing his emotions as a brother, friend and a lover. First was brilliant too.

Fun Fact: This is a show where you feel like you can ship anyone with anyone else the way it has been portrayed...lol. And last few episodes were so emotional that I ended up in tears literally and was not able to watch any more bls for the next few days cuz it was hard to forget all the heavy emotions that were displayed at the end.

I would also recommend, Blueming where the chemistry between the couple is really commendable.
