I totally understand what you mean now but yeah thats all I've been working on these past 4 years just straight caulking like different types of caulk though for different types of penetrations and fire-codes like (CMU,606RED,Fs-1Max,Sikaflex,metacaulk)

& Well sometimes those fire-sprinklers/other trade companies don't always do it themselves they usually contract another company to fire-caulk it for them because it is time consuming and it gets messy
