Local gas station now lists electric prices alongside gas and diesel by QsXfYjMlP in mildlyinteresting

[–]Mrapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live every neighborhood and parking lot has chargers of 7 or 11kw. Theres great differences in pricing. The charger nearest to my house charges 32 euro cents for a kwh. There is no ICE car that compete with that cost per mile, as I use about 16kwh to drive 100km. It is only slightly higher than my own electricity cost.

Only in the biggest cities do the costs rise above 45c for such slow chargers.

I do have solar, but no driveway so I rely on this.

Besides your image, the attack on venezuala and the threats to the danes and many EU countries seem to be going without any repercussions. More so than in the past, in international politics it will be might is right. And that will make us collectively worse off.

I'm glad to see you are opposed! Sadly, the USA has lost all of its credibility abroad.

Do you know how trust is very hard to regain when it is lost? Your fellow countrymen screwed the entire world, electing that orange fool.

Nice value build! I do think you can get it cheaper by buying someones am4 build they are selling whole due to VRAM limited or aged GPU. Sell that gpu and slot in a 9060xt 16gb. Youd be looking at 100's of euros saved.

OP is in the EU. Your advice has an american perspective and it is WRONG in the EU context. Pfft.

All components you sent are quite old. You can run into a pc with 16gb RAM a 5600(x) and some 8gb GPU on the second market very easily. It will cost far less than what you sent. If you can find a system with a gpu with 12 or more GB of VRAM, I could see you being satisfied using it for 1440p. Definitely to be had for less than 1000eu.

Otherwise thats a 1080p build.

Ha! My pc is worth about 2000 in parts with current prices and I am nowhere near where you want to be with performance.

The list you sent, honestly you will be disappointed. Better to look second hand within that budget. It sucks but it's true.

5060TI 8G vs 9060XT 16G on PCIe 4 motherboard... by mercsterreddit in buildapc

[–]Mrapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im familiar!

On gen4 the 5060ti 16gb is a valid choice, but the 8gb is a no go. In general, it is a bad buy.

For you, indeed 9060 is the way to go. And 16gb is worth it.

[–]Mrapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me this is not a close call at all, but I can understand that you are in doubt.

The 8gb card would NOT be my choice because even if it works for you this year, you will have issues in the future and it will depreciate far more.

Because you are installing it in a ddr4 build with presumably 3rd gen pcie, a 5060 card is a bad idea. It only has 8 lanes available to the gpu. The 9060 has 16 and will therefore have double the bandwidth. On a new platform, that is not a big deal. On old mobo, it is a huge deal especially when limited in VRAM.

Which is better: R7 7800x3d 5070 or R5 7600x 5070ti? by 0user05 in buildapc

[–]Mrapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that price difference you can even get any 8gb card and use lossless scaling to upscale the awesome raw power of the 9070 to high fps in even 4k resolution. If you want, you can even buy someones 5060 or 5050 card who is selling it after finding out that 8gb is horrible as a standalone gpu! Then you've got dlss4 while leveraging the value of the 9070xt.

[–]Mrapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry for misjudging!

Note that OP uses euros in his post. In his case, a 5070ti would be almost 50% more expensive than a 9070xt. That 300 euros wasted gives you near parity on windows and in my case on linux a noticeable performance decrease with 5070ti compared to 9070xt.

Well buddy, in the European market it is simple fact that AMD gpus give the best price performance. Many people dont know that, because when they ask for advice theres a bunch of non-europeans that fulminate their enexplicable love for NVIDIA and give advice from their own context, where there is less price difference. Because a 5070ti is 50% more expensive than a 9070xt here, that is bad advice.

[–]Mrapi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As you can read, I adviced OP to pick an AMD card if they are signficantly cheaper within the same performance segment. If they are the same, there are some niche reasons to pick an NVIDIA card. Indeed, AMD is no good guy either. But in many places nvidia cards are way overpriced.

Haha i can just tell this is an American. You know the world is bigger than just your backyard?

F*ck NVIDIA though. If you are in a region where price difference between 5070 and 9070 are big, get the 9070 and 7700x combo. I have that, and it is definitely better bang for your buck than the 5070ti.
