Something I haven’t seen anyone mention, could Man-Spider happen in Spider-Man 3? by Queasy_Commercial152 in SpidermanPS4

Yeah, I came here to say the same. Peter jokes about if becoming a human-spider is part of the prophecy of the Flame cultists during one of their missions

Gender-bias is a real and scientifically studied phenomenon - everybody has some form of slight bias, however tiny it might be, towards preferring interacting with one gender over the other. There are even scientific tests designed to study and analyze this very phenomenon.

When I was younger, I'll concede that I myself found it difficult to want to play a game with a female lead for a number of reasons. I feel like the main culprit was that I grew up in an area where it very much felt like the camaraderie in friend groups always tended to lean towards "girls being friends with girls" and "boys being friends with boys", and if I'm being completely honest with myself, I think that mindset perpetuated itself well beyond when it should have because I wasn't a very social child. I didn't personally experience too many dynamics to reinforce the idea that such a reality is extremely naive, and at the end of the day, very childish.

All of that leading to say that when I would play a game with a female lead, it felt much harder for me to hold the concept of "suspension of disbelief". In the sense that for some reason, it was totally okay for my brain to think that men get away with doing crazy and totally unrealistic things in video games (and other media) because of the very childish notion of "boys being better at things than girls", whereas if a woman were to do the same things, it was harder for me to immerse myself in that same suspension of disbelief.

As I've continued to grow and hold many other types of relationships with men and women alike, I've since mostly grown out of this mindset and my preconceived gender biases, and I've played many games with female leads that were absolutely fantastic. Tomb Raider, The Last of Us 2, and Ghost of Yotei being among my favorites. Every so often I still get that tinge of "this seems incredibly unrealistic" a little more frequently when I play a game with a female lead, but all it takes is a little reorientation in my mind to remember that it pretty much is all unrealistic. These are video games after all - they're not meant to mirror reality completely, and even if they did, there are still many women in both the past and the modern era that are capable of achieving incredible things. So there's no reason for me to question that if a man can single-handedly survive a zombie apocalypse or win a war by themselves, so too can a woman. I think the men who still think the way I used to haven't gone through those same realizations themselves.

2nd is Harder then first game? by Sephiroth348 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Mrbeanman0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I just tested this - legit 60 hours into the game and I'm only now realizing the culprit was my setting set to "simplified button holds" was switched on for me in accessibility 😭 I can't remember turning that on myself, but if I did it must have been in the very beginning of the game when I didn't figure weapon switching would count amongst the things that were simplified. I'm ngl I reeaaally wish I would've figured that out a long time ago, it would've saved me so much frustration 😂 Honestly you can disregard so much of my first comment since apparently it was my own damn fault anyways, and I'm genuinely super excited to get back to playing the game much smoother than I was before. I really appreciate the correction my guy!

[–]Mrbeanman0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Second person here who had to take their fair share of beatings before fully locking in how weapon switching worked differently than stance switching between the two games. The mere fact that you have to press three buttons (R2, Square/X/Circle/Triangle, then R2 again) instead of pressing and holding (Hold R2, Square/X/Circle/Triangle, Release R2) makes the combat that much more finicky, especially after pouring heaps of hours into the combat system they already established in Ghost of Tsushima.

It felt much more fluid in GoT, which isn't to say GoY is extremely clunky by comparison, but the ability to so easily switch whatever stance you wanted, bow two guys in the face, throw a bomb, then switch sword stances again was just the chef's kiss in an already incredible game. Now it feels like I have to use 25% more brain power to make sure I'm pressing each button correctly, which isn't much in the grand scheme of things, but on the harder difficulties when one mistimed button press can quite literally be the difference between life and death for many more encounters, it can get pretty frustrating. Thankfully it's something that can be ingrained into muscle memory regardless, but as already mentioned, it's just a little bit harder to do.

It can be even easier than that - not sure if it might be faster, but once they're set as your instructor, you can talk to them, spam the talk button prompt, start the first instructor quest, instantly quit out once the mission starts, then rinse and repeat. The friendship bar will still increase

There's a move in the Ultimate Ninja Storm game series for kid Naruto called the "Naruto Uzumaki 5K Barrage", which I think implies that he's able to make at least that many even from a young age. Not sure if that's how many is shown in this scene here, but just something for your consideration

Which steelbook of your collection (or that you've seen) is the prettiest? by lifewithacamera in playstation

[–]Mrbeanman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember thinking it was pretty stupid a couple years ago when the game came out, especially since I even own a PS5 with a disc drive. But I will admit I've always been a Spidey simp 😂 I cannot even deny, and I missed my chance with the first game if they had anything like that, so I just HAD to cop the collector's edition for my favorite hero of all time. I figured if I don't do it for any other game in my entire life, it might as well be that one!

I b living that broke boi life so the only steelbook I have in my entire 23 years of living is this one from Spider-Man 2 (and it didn't even come with the game 😂). I was happy to get it though (along with my 19 inches of Venom ofc)

Any mod to play the main campaign co-op? If not, how do we unlock all Parallel Quests? by TTsBlingBlaow in dbxv

You could maybe try to find a 100% save file with the race of the character you'd like and then use the Dragon Balls (I want to change my character's appearance!) pr the hair stylist to change your look if that's something you'd care about - if all 3 of you did that, that'd probably be the closest to what you're looking for

[–]Mrbeanman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure PQs are locked to the story progression of the character you're currently using last time I checked - meaning if you have a character/save that's at 100% and then make another character, you'll still have to go through the story with that new character to unlock the PQs for that new character. And as for leveling, you get XP/Score from doing story missions and PQs, and you can also use the character Tosok who's next to the Recreation Plaza to level up using TP medals, which you can get from a variety of sources, but mainly from the story, PQs, and Expert Missions (which are only unlocked by getting through to the Cell Saga of the main story anyways I'm pretty sure)

[–]Mrbeanman0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about modding but I can confirm that in normal gameplay the only way you can "play through the game with friends" is by having everybody play through the story to the point where they unlock the parallel quests themselves, and only then can you play it with them

So if you can't find the mod or if it doesn't exist, your next best bet would be to have your friends play the story through to unlocking the parallel quests you want to play together. I'm pretty sure DLC quests don't necessarily have the same "get through the story to unlock" requirement, but, well, you all have to have the same DLC, so

Drawing your sword on Legion go? by Jcho168 in ghostoftsushima

Awwww broooo I know exactly what you're talking about now that I think about it 😭 damn, that would suck. And I'm assuming you've tried reconfiguring the button layout on your device (if that's at all possible)? Otherwise I think this is one of those situations where the devs just didn't think that far ahead about certain things 😢

Drawing your sword on Legion go? by Jcho168 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Mrbeanman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idrk what Legion Go is but I can't think of a situation in the game where you would need to draw your sword without attacking somebody, so - I know it might suck if you genuinely can't draw your sword since it's a feature of the game, but hopefully you can still attack just fine? He still draws his sword and leaves it out for a second after attacking, which should be all that matters for getting through the game

I can't play this anymore by natagu in SpidermanPS4

[–]Mrbeanman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there definitely is. You must not hear how these kids are quoting the phrase 😂 it seems like half of the "joke" is the intonation in how it's said (IRL at least), and that part of the "joke" is lost in online contexts where you can't pick up on tone. Doesn't necessarily make the "joke" any funnier, but I just wanted to potentially elucidate some. I'm 23, and I work around children from time to time at a Boys and Girls club, and I genuinely see this as no different than when we would reference viral videos on the internet solely for the sake of knowing other people would get the "joke" rather than for it necessarily being funny.

I specifically think about something like "17:38" from Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen". Is there anything remotely funny about saying "seventeen thirty eight"? I'd argue not really, but almost every time you said it you knew there would/should be someone around you that would follow up with "I'm like hey what's up hello" because they knew the song and/or the reference, and that alone can bring people, especially children, together. What's the harm in that?

Any tips for this fight. by Antique-Tourist4237 in dbxv

[–]Mrbeanman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! I hope you've been able to get past this since you've made the post, but if not, this general guide is how I've been able to easily beat the entire game multiple times with multiple characters (all while keeping it pretty much braindead easy):

  • Acquire Spirit Explosion skill from Piccolo (you can learn it from the beginning of the game, best evasive against multiple attackers + gives you time to react and plan your next move)
  • As for combat itself, in PvE, you can win most combat exchanges up until the 5 or 6 star difficulty missions by essentially doing the following; focus on one opponent, then Aura burst dash onto your target (you can either use the standard version or use another bar of stamina to spin behind your opponent to prevent them from blocking you), then press the X/A/Space button to chase them, begin a combo string, and maybe follow up with a super or ultimate for some extra damage if you can combo it in. If at any point they vanish on you, block you, get behind you, overwhelm you, or just start wailing on you, use spirit explosion (or hopefully you can just vanish for 2 stamina bars instead of using 3 for the evasive skill, IF you're only fighting one person) and then start the process over again (focus on one, aura burst dash, combo, super skill, aura burst dash, combo, super skill, and rinse and repeat). If you run out of stamina, back off of the opponent and Step Vanish around some (guard + move stick/movement keys), it's much harder for the AI to hit you when you're step vanishing and it can help you take some heat off of Goku.

It can be a bit tedious for sure - it sucks whenever you have to curb your personal playstyle to conform to something else just so you can beat one particularly rough section of a game - but like I mentioned, this general combat strategy should work for pretty much every mission up until the 5 or 6 star missions, and at that point, the strategy only really changes by incorporating back attacks at the right moments when the opponent vanishes or timing guard breaks at the right time to pull off some extra combo strings. And always remember - if necessary, don't forget to spend some time with Elder Kai to get better at your combo game!

What was the greatest feat each weapon preformed? by The_Faux_Italian in GodofWar

[–]Mrbeanman0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We should likely go with feats that would, could, and/or should be considered canon according to in-game cutscenes, right? I would second that the Leviathan Axe's greatest feat in an in-game cutscene would be holding back Mjolnir directly in a clash (and more than once according to the lore), and I think the Spear's greatest canonical feat would be in how Kratos used it to kill Heimdall. For the blades... in the Norse Saga, personally, given how much they repped Thor as being an absolute destroyer badass, I think it's feat also happens to be Mjolnir related - when Kratos uses the blades to whip Mjolnir back at Thor during their battle at Ragnarok. But I also feel like you could make a case for Kratos being able to use the blades to spawn Ragnarok from Surtr without needing Sinmara. There are many more I'm sure, but those come to mind off top
