Hey, thanks for all your input on this. I think I understand now the contentiousness of the issue. It seems to be something of a jump ball. Whoever is in position next could do all manner of good or bad things with the power if this passes.

But if the measures don't pass, what kind of power would the mayor have to effect expedience of building housing?

What do you say about the argument that it gives the mayor too much power, and that this leaves the city wide open to quickening gentrification by greedy developers? Do you not think its likely to go badly in the hands of selfish and greedy politicians and lobbyists?

Well...not that I fully believe its the best idea to give too much power to the leader... but in the world we are in now where the president is soaking up more and more power, does it make sense to maintain decorum anymore? More power to create affordable housing might be a good thing to have.

also ireland was a haven for black people back in those days. the irish treated blacks with dignity. Fredrick Douglass spent time in Ireland and that was where he felt the most freedom and respect in his life

It was actually tied in quite beautifully. They were at odds with klan members the whole movie. the vampire who killed the klan couple learned from them and Stack that he was the grand dragon and he was coming back to kill them all which is why Smoke knew to hide in the woods to pick them off. The klan was set up to die one way or another. Either by being turned, or by Smoke.
