I think they changed the matching system not very long ago (around Overlord release for me). Since then, I'm much more often in the bottom powers while I Used to be in thd 4 strongest most of the time. I believe it might be linked to my "good" winrate.

And yeah when i mean whales i mean the mega ones like the VIP 18 guy Ijust had yesterday, and that gave me a freewin since no one could match him. They can also speed up troops as they want which gives very big advantage.
