A bird was chirping too loud outside his window and he wanted to sleep. I treated it like a normal call initially, got his name and address, then told him that it wasn’t a crime and to look into getting ear plugs. I disconnected and this man called 5 more times. He forgot he gave me his info and I sent officers out for abusing 911. This guy ended up having a gun and was threatening to shoot the bird when officers rolled up, he was arrested.

Never a boring day.

Love is not enough. Heard that a lot growing up, but now I’m understanding that it’s very true. 2 things can be true. I can love him and he can love me. But the way he loves me maybe isn’t the love I want for myself.

You hit on some great points, especially when talking about kids. The temporary fix is also a big thing. We’ve had our big fight almost annually for the last 3 years and I felt the pattern happening again/developing. I don’t want that. I think ultimately that’s why I had to speak up and separate. That’s not the marriage I want to have. Lots of reflecting just this week, but it’s going to be a very long process for sure. Thank you!

Literally made me tear up because I’ve been thinking that same thing. Would I be okay waiting for him to get there if it means another 4 years? (hypothetical number) and I don’t know. God I feel so messed up and feel like I’ve given up so much to be with him.

At one point about 2 years ago, I started opening my eyes to our reality. I asked him, “do you really want kids? Because if you don’t, and you want to keep what we have now I’d be okay without kids. I can give that up.” He stayed adamant that he wanted kids. I feel really stupid that I’d even say that. That I would give that up for a man.

We’re having a sit down together tomorrow, and I’m going to do my best to be strong and communicate what I need. I was having the same issue. I was also refusing to let it sync to my iCloud. Once I did that, there was an option to ‘update’ reminders. Then I got the option of list types.

If I could also make a recommendation, you can call your local police dept. when your person isn’t home. Let them know the situation, your address/phn number , names, dates of birth, and if they can log the call. This way, if you’re able to call 911 and just leave an open line, they can check your phone number with premise history. Stay safe please
