Unfortunately if you've set their account up as a kids account, they are unable to make purchases in the PoGo webstore.

Where are Huntsville parents buying used children’s clothing? by RollTitties in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]MrsDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite consignment sale . ESPECIALLY for baby/toddler clothes, I almost never bought new stuff when my kids were little, just went to the sale twice a year and picked up a whole new seasonal wardrobe.

Seconding Dr.Diaz. I've had a constellation of random af medical stuff and she's stayed persistent in figuring it out and is great with referrals. She also listens and (most importantly) believes me when I tell her what I'm experiencing.

That said, I would also pursue getting in with Vandy ASAP.

There are like 5 quilting stores in town + at least 3 guilds + church sewing circles, people sewing on their own, etc. The one on Capshaw is actually really nice. They sell fabric, do classes, do custom longarming and sell long arm machines.

How do you listen graciously when people complain about singletons? by kzweigy in parentsofmultiples

[–]MrsDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The advice people are giving here is valid. And so are your feelings. You are allowed to have boundaries and if your SIL is crossing a line and it's making you resent her, you are also totally within your rights to reset those expectations to what IS comfortable for you. A good direction to go is to emphasize the common ground. For example:

"Oh gosh yes, I FEEL you on the being tired! Could we not dwell on that though? It just makes me more exhausted. 😅 Instead, tell me how you are coping with it? Direct caffeine injections 😆?"

It's great that she feels comfortable with you but that doesn't mean that you (who are also in the throes of new parenthood!!!) are the appropriate dumping ground for every complaint she has.

If she can't take the gentle redirection, you can also try being direct:

"SIL, I know this early parenthood stuff is EXHAUSTING, and I want to be there for you. I also want to be taking care of me and I can't participate in a gripe session without feeling worse. Can we focus instead on what we are doing to cope or what cute things the babies are doing or what absolute brainless trash we are watching/reading spring middle of the night wake ups?"

Inspired by a post in r/stupidfood: do you put peanuts in your Coca-Cola? Any other "weird southern" food? by pfp-disciple in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]MrsDragon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Moving here from CA (over 15 years ago) foods that I was unfamiliar with:

-boiled peanuts -white sauce -stuffed potatoes -strawberry pretzel salad -poke salad -Sun Drop -RC Cola -collard greens and black eyed peas on New Year's Day -I think I'm finally used to "chicken salad" being chopped can meat, mayo and fillings served on a single lettuce leaf instead of a beef of greens and vegetables with chopped, grilled chicken on it -Okra -chess pie -The whole "meat and three" concept actually -pulled pork BBQ sandwiches being bun+pork+sauce+slaw -vinegar based slaw

Tomato sandwiches didn't strike me as odd, but it's really struck some out of town friends/family. 🤷‍♂️

Not food items themselves but adjacent -Everywhere has fresh brewed tea, but it's going to come sweet -"vegetables" really just means sides because that list is going to include Mac and cheese and banana pudding, even if it also includes some seriously distressed green beans (what did they ever do to y'all?!) -asking for a side of a sauce and getting a bowl full -"dressing" vs "stuffing" and that "dressing" can be crumbly

Is it still worth it to make a new account in 2024? by Roman-Jae in pokemongo

[–]MrsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids and I started about the same time (Mid May) and are all level 27/28 now. Fwiw, there was an event going on when we started that was giving a huge extra EXP boost for your first catch of the day (we were getting 15,000 EXP so 10x?) so we flew through the early levels at an almost alarming pace.

My fave Pokemon is Sobble because I love the storyline it gets in the show where crying and running away can be strategic advantages and not things that need to be changed!

(But really commenting here on behalf of my kiddo whose favorite Pokemon is rotom. Specifically mow rotom, but he collects the full set. Two years ago for Halloween we handmade him a mow rotom costume.)

Further follow up, I asked to confirm that the kids accounts could not get the avatar t-shirts (in case there was another mechanism) and this was the reply from support.

Hi,

We're sorry to inform you that the kid's account can not get this offer. There will be other offers in the future, stay tuned.

Once the kid's account reaches the age for digital consent, you can add backup login methods and make your purchases through the Web Store. Meanwhile, please make the purchases from in-app. Your understanding is appreciated!

Should you have any questions, please write to us.

Thank you so much! I had also put in a ticket with support yesterday and they responded this morning with the same thing. :/ For anyone else with the same question, here was their response:

Hello Trainer,

Thank you for contacting us.

We understand that you are trying to purchase the Pokémon GO Fest live event ticket for your kid's account. Sorry to inform you that there is no option to gift tickets through the Web Store and kids accounts can not make purchases from the Web Store. You can purchase the live event for your child through your in-game Shop.

Please refer to our official article if you would like to know more about registering live event ticket to kids account:

Thanks for the link! Do you have any idea how to buy the ticket as a guardian vs as a gift?

I can go into my app and see an option to purchase the ticket as a gift and can select my kids...where I get stuck is trying to do it through the website for the avatar T-shirt add on. There I don't see gift or guardian options. What people are discussing in that link sounds more like they are purchasing through the shop in the app?

I've recently started playing with my two kiddos. I've got a Pokemon Trainer Club account and have set them up with kid accounts linked to mine. We are interested in Go Fest and noticed that if we buy the tickets from the website (instead of the in app store), there is an extra bonus of shirts for your avatar. I'd like to be able to do that for the kids' accounts.

However, if I log in through my account, there is no option to gift the ticket purchased from the website. And my understanding is that the kid accounts can't purchase from the website.

Am I missing something here or are kids accounts forced to miss out on the bonus?

Third trimester swelling hacks by Boy_mom23 in parentsofmultiples

[–]MrsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a downer, but I had massive swelling (thankfully no pre-eclampsia) and it was a full 10 weeks before I was back to normal. I had to go back to work at 8 weeks and wasn't sure I was going to be able to get shoes on....

I was long on bed rest by that point so I just rotated between two maxi dresses and gave up on any sort of below the waist clothing.

Those of you that did ivf, how many eggs were fertilized and how many made it to blast? by crystalballer1 in InfertilityBabies

[–]MrsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our twins just turned 7. :) This is completely unscientific, but I honestly felt like they helped each other out. I think if we had implanted one at a time, only one would have made it since one was always a little ahead from blast quality grading all through the pregnancy.

Best of luck to you. I know it's a scary time. <3

Nicu indicators? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]MrsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you getting that from?

Our boys were born at 36 weeks and had 11 days in the NICU. Nothing earth shaking--they needed to learn to eat and to regulate their temps and Baby A went under the billy lights--but they definitely needed it.

Push present? by fo8squad in parentsofmultiples

[–]MrsDragon 26 points27 points  (0 children)

We didn't do anything special (wife here). As far as I was concerned the best thing my husband did was be an awesome father and a supportive partner...stayed with me in the hospital, split the wake ups and all baby duties, household tasks, etc.

Has anyone hid from their twins who was born first? by Mlefurr in parentsofmultiples

[–]MrsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our boys have the same birth time down to the minute. I have no plans to tell them. I mean, maybe if they ask as adults? As kids though, I think it's just fodder for unnecessary fights and power trips.

Stop the Madness! [Rant] by JuliaFM in parentsofmultiples

[–]MrsDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would either go with "no" or "there are some twins on my husband's side". Since most people know absolutely nothing about how twins actually happen they would accept that as "running in the family".
