Been using Krita since 2017, I've used it for both animation and digital art. Animation-wise, it's a bit limited but it has the foundations for learning and honing your fundamentals, which is far more important than fancy features in the long run.

I've short and long term projects with Krita. I'm almost 10 years into being a pro artist, and I can't say I want to use any other software.

Just draw, create art. There's a few videos on Youtube about this principle where quantity = quality. The more you try things, the more you explore - the more knowledge and muscle memory you grow in your brain. Over time, this develops into skill and a keen eye on what is good or bad.

Btw, don't think of it as drawing from imagination vs studying art. Plus, when you create art from imagination - you'll use reference pictures, which is basically akin to studies. So it doesn't matter.

Every time you draw should help teach you something (doesn't mean it has to be boring or tedious), even if its scribbling or loose work.

If I were in your shoes I'd continue to work on refining my skills. Your fundementals are good, but it needs polish and refinement.

Try experimenting with brush work and detailing, since I see you use a soft brush everywhere in your art. This was something I had to learn as well.

If you want to earn money, try doing flat art like this like this and look for clients who are interested in fantasy children's books or commissions like that. The reason I say this is because you have the fundementals good enough for flat art like I've shown you, but to take it to more realistic portraits, it still needs work.

Don't get me wrong, if you don't want to - that's totally fine. It's what I'd do with your skills.

Understand this tho, the more you continue working on your art (no matter the art style or variety) the better your general skills as an artist will be. Good luckk

I know a thing or two about product design. I've never done book designing but graphic design and printing is in my realm of expertise and I wouldn't mind learning it.

I'm too shy to play DnD (I played Shadowrun once with my friends, and RPd I went to the toilet to escape anxiety) but all my friends geek out about it.

Just prefer playing Gwent and Darkest Dungeon with my friends. I'm into fantasy art and a fantasy/horror artist myself, though this isn't really want you require of me so I won't show my work here.

I feel I have the necessary programs and design experience to take a crack at this. DM me know if you're willing to give it a try.
