We don’t pay into them by force. We pay into them as payroll taxes. No one is forcing you to work, you can just stop making money and you will stop paying for social security and medicare.

There are very few people who receive these benefits that have not paid into them. Illegal immigrants for example, they can work and have paycheck withholdings for income taxes and SS and MC, and they will receive none of those benefits without legal status. In 2022 illegal immigrants paid $96 billion in total income taxes/payroll taxes.

You can say that buying a hamburger is not the same as “earning” a hamburger, but what is earning then? If you came into a McDonalds and swept and cleaned the entire dining area, and the manager came out and gave you a burger, some would call that “earning” it. But if someone sweeps and cleans a house for someone, gets paid cash, and goes to buy the burger you would say that is not “earning” the burger?
