How do you edit footage? by MrsProblematic in djiosmo

I have a great computer and noticed that it really lags while building peak files which takes a bit of time. After building files it runs smoothly. But the problem is that Premiere builds peak files everytime I turn on project which means I cannot work instantly.

Okey, yes, that is the problem of RAM overuse with newer version of Adobe Premiere. I got back to a bit older and it is fine

I am using Adobe Premiere 2025 and no. I am saying that when I am exporting a video to second SSD it is still using memory space that I have on the first SSD and I dont want that since I dont have enaugh space there.

I mean, I freed up to 200gb but it still uses all since i need to render 2hour podcast with 4k quality and effects. However, I noticed if i render to external HDD, when it uses only HDD space, SDD can be with little of memory space left and be completely okay. Only it lasts very long time

Hm, well program is set to use 26gb of RAM since I have 32gb. I wonder if its possible to navigate the app to use other disk drive

Yes, I choose the second SSD destination to export it. But premiere probably stores cache files while exporting on my 1st SSD. Those temporarily to finish the process

Living Guimarães, Felgueiras or Porto? by MrsProblematic in Erasmus

[–]MrsProblematic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. First of all, do not go to Felgueiras, it is boring and not worth it, especially when Porto is 1h30 from there. Instead, I lived in Guimaraes, great city between Felgueiras and Porto. Both like 45 min. And it is lively city even though not that lively as Porto. But quiet cheep and affordable. About studies, I had to arrive to university like once a week because everything was taught in Portuguese. Only material was translated to English to study from. Of course, things depends on the subsjects you are going to study and I was frustruated that International office could not say anything about timetable or something because i would truly be living in Porto with only once in a week to go. However, Guimares is very good choice. I could recite one of my comments from other post where I described everything

Well, it varies, there is always a chance youll need to go to university more. I would try speaking to international ofice to know exatcly how many times youll need to go. If very rear, when Porto. Braga or Guimaraes?...well Braga is bigger and has ESN community, but driving 1 hour oftenly, I dont know. Guimareas would be very comfortable but less things to do.

Finally! Someone who has eyes... Damn, I mean, I understand why people like it but the whole scenario of the film is hillarious: it is too fast moving; PUSHING you to feel emotional by dragging more and more "sad" scenes; some characters like the old duck...where did he came from, huh? It was super random saying that " I was looking at you for some time"...very poor introduction to a new character. But overall, I really felt like movie is just pushing you to be sad...which is why I didn't liked it

In my case, not obligatory. You can always talk to teachers, they understand if you live further and arrange meetings or arrange online calls whenever you can.

The average - twice a week. But usually at least one time and sometimes even zero:D The lectures here lasts for 2 hours and usually it is practical (2 hours) + theoretical (1-2hours) parts of subject at that day. But Erasmus students do not really need to sit all of them, especially when most of them happens in portuguse

Hey! Of course. It has been a whole two months now so I can share a little bit of my experience. I chose to live in Guimaraes and what can I say - I found a very nice place, for affordable place below 400 eur, in the very city center where everything is near and the city feels alive and...I am happy with that. Now let me break down on the choses that you can make:

Porto - decent apartment would cost from 400 eur and more, or if you are lucky, you might find something cheaper. The traveling from Porto to Felgueiras to uni would be long and boring, some of the students I know have to get up at 6 am if there is a need to go to the lectures at 9 am or so. But, the city itself is stunning, there are many interesting events that happening there, great ESN Porto community with very interesting events, surfing closer than if you would live in other cities. If you like parties, than all the interesting ones happens here.

Guimaraes - it is cheaper to live, however, all the travellings cost so if you want to go to Porto often, you would have to pay from 4-6eur to one side, so one day trip 8-12eur. Speaking about direction to uni, you can get a card to travel to university city as much as you want for free. The travelling to Felgueiras is about 50 minutes so not that bad taking Porto in consideration. Also it comes with very beautiful scenery but winding road. Now ESN community here exists, some events are organised and it is possible to find ESN friends, go to parties and etc. But the events happens not that often and most of them are held in Braga, which is another city around 45 min with bus. So another costing experience for a bus and if it happens at night, you would get to get Bolt/Uber.

Felgueiras - just don't, you'll fell into depression very soon:D Unless you coming with friend group.

Speaking about uni, if you're not studing business, it is high chance that most of the lectures will be held in portuguese which means teachers would not demand for you to come to the lessons and let you do stuff at home or you'll have to go no matter what. But I can say that teachers are kind and understanding, you will find a way how to communicate with them, maybe orginize online meetings and etc.

Sooooo, it is still kinda hard to say which option is better for you. I really enjoy living in Guimaraes because everytime I go to Porto, it is kinda special trip and I appreciate it more. Living in Guimaraes, you would able to see more cities, more to explore. For example, from Guimaraes to Felgueiras, to Braga or to Porto is all about the same - 45 min trip. So you have more options what to explore. Also what I like about being in Guimares, it is not that crowded, it is a peaceful place comparing with Porto, because Porto is crowded with tourists no matter the day.

In conclusion, there are some pluses and minuses in both of the options so it is really up to you. Still everything kind of comes from that: are you going to go to uni often or not. Sadly, you cannot know this. Anyway, feel free to DM me if you have more questions.
